Abstract

Penelitian ini diatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar yang masih perlu ditingkatkan, Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh model Small Group Discussion berbantuan web Brainingcamp, ditinjau dari gender dibandingkan dengan model direct instruction. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV SD di Kecamatan Cileunyi Kabupaten Bandung. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yakni kelas IV-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model Small Group Discussion berbantuan web Brainingcamp dan IV-B sebagai kelas kontrol menggunakan model direct instruction. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan model Small Group Discussion dan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. Data analisis yang digunakan adalah uji t independen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, 1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh model Small Group Discussion berbantuan web Brainingcamp dan direct instruction; 2) tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan yang menggunakan model Small Group Discussion berbantuan web Brainingcamp; 3) secara keseluruhan penggunaan model small group discussion berbantuan web Brainingcamp berdampak positif pada tingkat ketercapaian setiap indikator pemecahan masalah matematis. Model small group discussion berbantuan web brainingcamp dapat digunakan di sekolah dasar karena berpengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. ------- This study explores the need to improve the mathematical problem-solving abilities of elementary school students. The research aims to analyze differences in the improvement of these abilities between students taught using the small group discussion model assisted by the Brainingcamp web and those taught using the direct instruction model, with consideration of gender perspectives. A quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design was applied. The population consisted of 4th-grade elementary school students in Cileunyi Subdistrict, Bandung Regency, selected through purposive sampling. The sample included two classes: Class IV-A as the experimental group, taught using the small group discussion model assisted by the Brainingcamp web, and Class IV-B as the control group, taught using the direct instruction model. The research instruments consisted of observation sheets to assess student activities during learning and a mathematical problem-solving ability test. Data analysis employed an independent t-test. The results indicate significant improvement in mathematical problem-solving abilities among students taught using the small group discussion model assisted by the Brainingcamp web compared to those taught using the direct instruction model. However, no significant difference was found in the improvement based on gender among students using the small group discussion model. Overall, the use of the small group discussion model assisted by the Brainingcamp web has a positive impact on the achievement of various mathematical problem-solving indicators and can be effectively implemented in elementary schools to enhance students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.
