Abstract
Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh fakta bahwa kurangnya daya tarik siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dan minimnya pemahaman konsep perkalian yang disebabkan karena penggunaan metode yang kurang bervariasi serta pembelajaran yang monoton sehingga berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penggunaan metode drill pada pembelajaran matematika perkalian dasar dan ada atau tidaknya pengaruh penggunaan metode ini terhadap hasil belajar materi perkalian dasar siswa kelas II SD. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan metode eksperimen jenis kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest – Posttest with Non – Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar yang berada di Kecamatan Cileunyi, Kabupaten Bandung sedangkan sampel penelitian ini adalah dua kelas siswa kelas II di salah satu SD kecamatan Cileunyi yang berjumlah 50 orang. Penentuan siswa menggunakan Teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode drill membuat suasana belajar tidak monoton dan menyenangkan. Hal ini berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa, pada pretest menunjukkan rata – rata yang rendah sebesar 37,40 dan mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan pada hasil posttest di 79,32. Hasil uji t diperoleh 0,000 ≤ 0,05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh dari Penggunaan metode drill terhadap hasil belajar materi perkalian dasar siswa kelas II SDN Cibiru 06. ------ The research is motivated by the fact that student’s lack of interest in learning mathemathics and limited understanding of multiplication concepts are caused by the use of less varied teaching methods and monotonous learning processes, which in turn impact students learning outcomes. Therefore, the aim of study is to determine the use of the drill method in teaching basic multiplication in mathematics and whether this method influences the learning outcomes of second- grade elementary school students. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest – Posttets with Non equivalent Control group Design. The population in this study consisted of all second-grade elementary school students in cileunyi District, Bandung regency, while the sample included two second – grade classes from one elementary school in Cileunyi district, Totaling 50 students. The selection of participants was done using purposive sampling. The rsults of the study indicate that the use of the drill method made the learning atmosphere less monotonous and more enjoyable. This had a positive impact on student’s learning outcomes, as evidenced by the pretest average score of 37.40, which significantly increased to 79.32 in the post-test. The t – test results showed a value of 0.000 ≤ 0,05, indicating a significant effect of using the drill method on the learning outcomes of basic multiplication for second – grade students at SDN Cibiru 06.
