Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam standar proses yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa sekolah dasar. Namun, pada kenyataannya kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam matematika pada siswa sekolah dasar masih rendah, terutama dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berbasis cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan pemecahan masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi eksperimen. Bentuk desain yang digunakan adalah the non-equivalent control group design melalui pretest dan post-test. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V pada dua sekolah dasar negeri di Kecamatan Rakit. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes soal cerita yang hasilnya akan diuji menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji rerata untuk membuktikan hipotesis yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui uji paired sample test pada kelas eskperimen menghasilkan nilai probabilitas sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000 dan nilai taraf signifikan (α) 0,05, ternyata 0,000 < 0,05, maka terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan pemecahan masalah terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Kemudian, dilaksanakan uji-t two sample independent test dengan nilai probabilitas sig.(2-tailed) equal variances not assumed yaitu 0,000 dan nilai taraf signifikan (α) 0,05, ternyata 0,000 < 0,05, maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi pemecahan masalah dan tidak memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi pemecahan masalah. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan pemecahan masalah matematis dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. --------- Mathematical problem solving ability is one of the important components in the process standards that must be possessed by elementary school students. However, in reality, elementary school students' problem solving abilities in mathematics are still low, especially in solving story-based mathematics problems. This research aims to determine the effect of applying a problem solving approach to students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The design form used is the non-equivalent control group design through pretest and post-test. The sample used in this research was class V students at two state elementary schools in Rakit District. The research instrument is a story question test, the results of which will be tested using the normality test, homogeneity test and mean test to prove the existing hypothesis. The research results indicate that the Paired Sample Test conducted in the experimental class yielded a probability value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 with a significance level (α) of 0.05. Since 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that there is an effect of implementing the problem-solving approach on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. Then, a two sample independent t-test was carried out with a probability value of sig. (2-tailed) equal variances not assumed, namely 0.000 and a significant level value (α) of 0.05, it turned out to be 0.000 < 0.05, so there was a significant difference between mathematical problem solving abilities of students who receive learning using problem solving strategies and those who do not receive learning using problem solving strategies. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of a mathematical problem solving approach can be an alternative in improving elementary school students' mathematical problem solving abilities.
