Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran geografi di SMAN 3 Bandung memiliki permasalahan. Permasalahan yang terjadi adalah rendahnya kemampuan bepikir kritis peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan, menganalisis tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, serta menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Research Based Learning terhadap kemampuan bepikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group. Variabel bebasnya adalah model pembelajaran Research Based Learning, variabel terikatnya adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kelas geografi P2 dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen, sedangkan kelas geografi P1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes 10 soal esai, dan analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis (uji-t), dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Kemampuan berpikir kritis di kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol secara nilai meningkat antara nilai pretest dan posttest. 2) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan kelas kontrol berdasarkan hasil uji N – Gain pada kedua kelas. 3) Hasil uji regresi linear sederhana didapatkan nilai signifikansi 0.000 < 0.005 yang artinya model pembelajaran Research Based Learning memiliki pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Saran dari penelitian ini adalah peneliti seharusnya memberikan pemahaman tentang langkah-langkah pembelajaran berbasis riset kepada peserta didik terlebih dahulu agar pembelajaran bisa berjalan secara efektif. Geography learning activities at SMAN 3 Bandung have problems. The problem that occurs is the low critical thinking ability of students. The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of critical thinking before and after treatment, analyze the level of critical thinking ability between experimental class and control class, and analyze the effect of Research Based Learning model on critical thinking ability. The research method used was quasi-experiment with nonequivalent control group research design. The independent variable is Research Based Learning learning model, the dependent variable is critical thinking ability. P2 geography class was used as the experimental class, while P1 geography class as the control class. The research instrument used a test of 10 essay questions, and data analysis used normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test (t-test), and simple linear regression test.The results showed that 1) Critical thinking skills in the experimental class and control class increased between the pretest and posttest scores. 2) There is an increase in critical thinking skills in the experimental class compared to the control class based on the results of the N-Gain test in both classes. 3) The results of the simple linear regression test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.005 which means that the Research Based Learning learning model has an influence on the critical thinking skills of students. The suggestion from this study is that researchers should provide an understanding of the steps of research-based learning to students first so that learning can run effectively
