Abstract
Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan mengenai struktur cerita dan nilai pendidikan karakter yang ada dalam novel Diarah Pati karya Margasulaksana. Analisis struktural dalam novel ini menggunakan tiori Renne Wellek & Austin Warren, sedangkan nilai pendidikan karakter yang dianalisis, mengacu pada nilai karakter menurut Kemendikbud, yang mencakup 18 nilai pendidikan karakter, yang selanjutnya diterapkan pada bahan pembelajaran membaca di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif analisis. Sumber data pada penelitian ini yaitu novel Diarah Pati karya Margasulaksana. Data dari penelitian ini yaitu struktur cerita dan nilai pendidikan karakter yang ada dalam novel Diarah Pati. Adapun teknik mengumpulkan data dari penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan teknik telaah pustaka, sedangkan teknik mengolah datanya menggunakan analisis teks. Hasil dari penelitian ini, yaitu mendeskripsikan struktur cerita yang mencakup tema, alur, tokoh dan penokohan, latar, sudut pandang, dan gaya bahasa. Tema dalam novel ini, yaitu “misteri”, menceritakan tokoh Sarudin yang hendak diincar nyawanya oleh manusia jahat. Alur yang terdapat dalam novel ini yaitu alur maju. Tokoh yang ditemukan berjumlah 12 orang, terbagi menjadi tokoh utama dan tokoh tambahan. Latar yang ditemukan dalam novel ini mencakup latar tempat yang berjumlah 7 tempat, pusat utamanya di Karawang dan di rumah Juragan Pangsiun, latar waktunya berjumlah 16 waktu, sedangkan latar sosial yang ditemukan ada empat. Sudut pandang yang digunakan pengarang dalam novel Diarah Pati, yaitu orang ketiga tidak terbatas. Gaya bahasa yang teranalisis berjumlah 6, yaitu hiperbola, peribahasa, simile, personifikasi, litotes, dan pleonasme. Dalam hasil penelitian ini, ditemukan seluruh nilai pendidikan karakter yang berjumlah 18 nilai menurut Kemendikbud. Selanjutnya hasil penelitian ini diterapkan untuk bahan pembelajaran membaca novel di SMA. Kata kunci: Bahan Pembelajaran, Nilai Pendidikan Karakter, Novel, Struktur cerita. This study describes the story structure and character education values in the novel Diarah Pati by Margasulaksana. The structural analysis in this novel uses the theory of Renne Wellek & Austin Warren, while the character education values analyzed refer to the character values according to the Ministry of Education and Culture, which includes 18 character education values, which are then applied to reading learning materials in high school. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The data source in this research is the novel Diarah Pati by Margasulaksana. The data of this research are story structure and character education values in Diarah Pati novel. The technique of collecting data from this research is using literature review technique, while the data processing technique uses text analysis. The result of this research is to describe the story structure that includes theme, plot, character and characterization, setting, point of view, and language style. The theme in this novel, namely “mystery”, tells the character Sarudin who is about to be targeted by an evil man. The plot contained in this novel is a forward plot. There are 12 characters, divided into main characters and additional characters. The settings found in this novel include 7 place settings, the main center of which is in Karawang and at Juragan Pangsiun's house, 16 time settings, while there are four social settings found. The point of view used by the author in the novel Diarah Pati is the third person indefinite. There are six language styles analyzed, namely hyperbole, proverbs, simile, personification, litotes, and pleonasm. In this research, all 18 character education values according to the Ministry of Education and Culture were found.
