Abstract
Penguatan pendidikan karakter (PPK) telah menjadi program yang diimplementasikan oleh pemerintah sejak tahun 2017, konsekuensi dari program tersebut menuntut guru termasuk guru-guru pendidikan jasmani (Penjas) memiliki kemampuan pedagogik dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai karakter dalam proses pembelajaran. Namun demikian dalam tataran praktiknya pengintegrasian nilai-nilai karakter hanya mewujud dalam catatan administratif semata dalam bentuk rencana pembelajaran. Hasil studi pendahuluan dilapangan mengindikasikan guru-guru Penjas di kabupaten Sumedang belum fokus dalam memberikan penguatan nilai-nilai karakter sebagai domain afektif karena cenderung penekanannya pada ranah psikomotorik. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi persepsi guru terkait penguatan pendidikan karakter mengingat persepsi akan menentukan tindakan guru dalam pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran Penjas. Studi kasus dipilih sebagai desain penelitian dengan melibatkan 10 orang guru Penjas di Kabupaten Sumedang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner open-ended berisi jawaban singkat dan metode wawancara semi- terstruktur. Data-data tersebut dianalisis dengan teknik conten analisis untuk pengkodingan dan kategorisasi sehingga dihasilkan tema-tema penting sebagai temuan penelitian melalui bantuan aplikasi NVivo 12 Pro. Temuan penting muncul mencakup pemahaman guru, urgensi, tantangan, strategi pembelajaran, dan kontribusi PPK. Wawasan ini sangat penting bagi pembuat kebijakan, penulis kurikulum, dan pendidik untuk meningkatkan pendidikan karakter dalam pembelajaran jasmani. Pada akhirnya, penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap upaya berkelanjutan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pendidik dan siswa, sehingga mendorong efektivitas pendidikan di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Karakter; Persepsi Guru; Pembelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani Strengthening character education (PPK) has been a program implemented by the government since 2017. The consequences of this program require teachers, including physical education (Penjas) teachers, to have pedagogical abilities in integrating character values into the learning process. However, at the practical level, the integration of character values only manifests itself in administrative records in the form of learning plans. The results of preliminary studies in the field indicate that Physical Education teachers in Sumedang district have yet to focus on strengthening character values as an affective domain because the emphasis tends to be on the psychomotor domain. Therefore, this research aims to investigate teachers' perceptions regarding strengthening character education, considering that perceptions will determine teachers' actions in implementing the Physical Education learning process. A case study was chosen as the research design involving 10 Physical Education teachers in Sumedang Regency. Data collection was carried out through an open-ended questionnaire containing short answers and a semi-structured interview method. This data was analyzed using content analysis techniques for coding and categorization so that important themes were produced as research findings with the help of the NVivo 12 Pro application. Important findings emerged, including teacher understanding, urgency, challenges, learning strategies, and PPK contributions. This insight is very important for policymakers, curriculum writers, and educators to improve character education in physical learning. Ultimately, this research contributes to ongoing efforts to enhance the abilities of educators and students, thereby encouraging the effectiveness of education in Indonesia.
