Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas penerapan kegiatan art therapy dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional pada anak-anak di TK Bunda Floria. Penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar permasalahan yang muncul pada anak kelas B1 di TK Bunda Floria yaitu sebagian besar anak belum mengenal emosi dan situasi pemicu emosi tersebut muncul, yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan mereka dalam mengelola emosi, berinteraksi sosial, dan memahami perasaan diri sendiri maupun orang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional anak melalui penerapan art therapy. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua siklus yang masing-masing siklus terdiri atas dua tindakan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi hasil karya anak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa art therapy memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan kecerdasan emosional anak-anak yang terlihat dari perkembangan kemampuan mereka dalam mengenal emosi dasar. Dengan demikian penerapan art therapy efektif dalam mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional anak-anak di TK Bunda Floria khususnya dalam pengenalan emosi pada anak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti merekomendasikan bagi guru untuk lebih konsisten dalam pengenalan emosi pada anak melalui media pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan, bagi sekolah agar dapat menyediakan berbagai fasilitas belajar yang dapat mendukung proses pembelajaran, dan bagi peneliti selanjutnya agar dapat melakukan penelitian dalam jangka waktu yang lebih panjang dan menggunakan teknik art therapy yang berbeda untuk dapat melihat efektivitasnya dalam berbagai konteks. This research discusses the implementation of art therapy activities in developing emotional intelligence among children in TK Bunda Floria. The study was conducted based on the issues observed in the B1 class at TK Bunda Floria, where most of the children had not yet recognized emotions or the situations that trigger these emotions, which could affect their ability to manage emotions, interact socially, and understand their own feelings as well as those of others. The purpose of this research is to develop children's emotional intelligence through the application of art therapy. The method used in this study is classroom action research with a qualitative approach. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two actions. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of the children’s artworks. The results of the study show that art therapy positively contributes to the development of children's emotional intelligence, as evidenced by their improved ability to recognize basic emotions. Therefore, the implementation of art therapy is effective in enhancing children's emotional intelligence at TK Bunda Floria, particularly in helping them identify emotions. Based on the findings, the researcher recommends that teachers should be more consistent in introducing emotions to children through engaging and enjoyable learning media, that schools should provide various learning facilities to support the educational process, and that future researchers should conduct studies over a longer period and use different art therapy techniques to evaluate their effectiveness in various contexts.
