Abstract
Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai penerapan model pembelajaran dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, yaitu penerapan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) sebagai bentuk upaya dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada anak. Hal tersebut didasari karena muncul permasalahan bahwa penggunaan strategi pembelajaran yang digunakan di jenjang pendidikan PAUD hanya terfokus pada kegiatan calistung saja, sehingga kemampuan berpikir kritis anak masih belum berkembang dengan optimal. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya model pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh guru dalam menangani masalah tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak melalui penerapan model Project Based Learning dalam penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Subjek penelitian adalah anak kelompok B di TK Negeri Pembina Citarip sebanyak dua puluh satu anak berusia enam hingga tujuh tahun. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui instrumen penelitian yang mengadaptasi teori Ennis mengenai indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus dengan dua kali tindakan kelas pada setiap siklusnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada kondisi awal yang menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis anak masih dalam kategori belum berkembang (BB). Namun, setelah dilakukan penerapan Project Based Learning, kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagian besar anak mengalami perkembangan dan berada dalam kategori berkembang sangat baik (BSB). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, model Project Based Learning dapat digunakan sebagai rekomendasi model pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak. This research will discuss the application of learning models in learning activities, namely the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model as a form of effort in developing critical thinking skills in children. This is based on the problem that the use of learning strategies used at the PAUD education level only focuses on calistung activities, so that children's critical thinking skills are still not optimally developed. Therefore, there needs to be a learning model used by teachers in dealing with these problems. This study aims to develop children's critical thinking skills through the application of the Project Based Learning model in classroom action research (PTK). The research subjects were group B children at TK Negeri Pembina Citarip as many as twenty-one children aged six to seven years. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and field notes. The research data were obtained through research instruments that adapted Ennis' theory regarding indicators of critical thinking skills. The research was conducted in two cycles with two class actions in each cycle. The results showed that the application of the Project Based Learning model can develop children's critical thinking skills. This can be seen in the initial condition which shows that children's critical thinking skills are still in the undeveloped category (BB). However, after the implementation of Project Based Learning, most children's critical thinking skills developed and were in the very well develop category (BSB). Based on the results of this study, the Project Based Learning model can be used as a recommendation for an effective learning model to develop children's critical thinking skills.
