Abstract
Dalam lima periode terakhir, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia selalu menempati peringkat 3 besar sebagai pendaftar terbanyak program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertfikat (MSIB). Selaras dengan itu, jumlah mahasiswa berstatus diterima pada program MSIB dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia juga kian mengalami peningkatan sejak periode pertamanya, sampai periode terbaru yaitu batch 5. Berdasarkan teori decision making, keputusan dibuat berdasarkan pengaruh faktor internal dan eksternal, dengan demikian penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh faktor eksternal terhadap pengambilan keputusan mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dalam mengikuti program MSIB batch 5 yang ditandai dengan konformitas dan dukungan sosial peer group. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 301 responden dari 1,215 populasi yang ditentukan menggunakan perhitungan rumus Slovin. Untuk memperoleh hasil, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan asosiatif kausal, dengan penggunaan uji asumsi klasik normalitas, multikolinearitas, dan heteroskedastisitas dan teknik analisis data uji koefisien korelasi Kendall’s Tau. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian korelasi Kendall’s Tau pada data yang diperoleh, skor signifikansi menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan baik dari konformitas peer group terhadap pengambilan keputusan, maupun dari dukungan sosial peer group terhadap pengambilan keputusan. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan jika konformitas dan dukungan sosial peer group meningkat, maka keputusan untuk mengikuti program MSIB batch 5 pun mengalami peningkatan dalam skala yang sedang. In the last five periods, the Indonesian Education University has always been ranked in the top 3 as the most applicants for the Certified Independent Study and Internship (MSIB) program. In line with this, the number of students with the status of being accepted into the MSIB program from the Indonesian University of Education has also increased since the first period, until the latest period, namely batch 5. Based on decision making theory, decisions are made based on the influence of internal and external factors, thus this research was conducted to determine the influence of external factors on the decision making of Indonesian Education University students in participating in the MSIB batch 5 program which is characterized by conformity and peer group social support. This research was conducted on 301 respondents from a population of 1,215 determined using the Slovin formula calculation. To obtain the results, researchers used quantitative research methods with a causal associative approach, using the classic assumption tests of normality, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity and the data analysis technique of the Kendall's Tau correlation coefficient test. Based on the results of Kendall's Tau correlation testing on the data obtained, the significance score shows that there is a significant influence both from peer group conformity on decision making, and from peer group social support on decision making. Thus, it can be said that if peer group conformity and social support increases, then the decision to take part in the MSIB batch 5 program will also increase on a moderate scale.
