Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa kelas II di Sekolah Dasar. Rendahnya keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa disebabkan karena kurangnya latihan menulis yang dilakukan oleh siswa sedangkan keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting dan harus dikuasai oleh setiap orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar dengan menerapkan metode drill berbantuan media puzzle suku kata. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan MC.Taggart. Proses pelaksanaan penelitian ini terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II A di salah satu SD Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Data yang diperoleh selama pelaksanaan siklus kemudian diolah menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus pada siklus I siswa mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 72,12 dengan persentase ketuntasan 67% dan siklus II siswa mengalami peningkatan pada nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh yaitu sebanyak 81,06 dengan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar sebesar 91%. Dari hasil penelitian ini maka dapat disimpulkan penerapan metode drill berbantuan media puzzle suku kata dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis permulaan siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar. This study is motivated by the low early writing skills of grade II students in elementary school. The low level of students early writing skills is due to the lack of writing exercises carried out by students while writing skills are one of the important skills and must be mastered by everyone. This study aims to improve the early writing skills of grade II elementary school students by applying the drill method assisted by syllable puzzle media. The research method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and MC. Taggart model. The process of implementing this research consists of planning, implementing actions, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were students of class II A in one of the public elementary schools in West Bandung Regency. The data obtained during the implementation of the cycle was then processed using qualitative and quantitative methods. This research was conducted in two cycles in cycle I students got an average score of 72.12 with a percentage of completeness of 67% and cycle II students experienced an increase in the average score obtained which was 81,06 with a percentage of completeness of learning outcomes of 91%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of the drill method assisted by syllable puzzle media can improve the early writing skills of grade II elementary school students.
