    KELAS VII SMPLB DI SLB INSAN SEJAHTERA

    Subjek L anak dengan hambatan pendengaran di SLB Insan Sejahtera yang memiliki permasalahan pada pengucapan konsonan bilabial /b/ yaitu terjadi subtitusi pergantian dengan huruf /p/ dan /m/ serta terjadinya omisi atau penghilangan huruf. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (efektivitas) penerapan metode phonetic placement dalam meningkatkan kemampuan artikulasi konsonan bilabial /b/ di awal, tengah dan akhir kata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode SSR (Single Subject Research) pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain A-B-A. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini dengan tes lisan menggunakan kata yang terdapat konsonan bilabial /b/. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian penerapan metode phonetic placement memiliki hasil yang baik dalam peningkatan mengucapkan konsonan bilabial /b/ pada subjek L dengan mean level di tahap baseline 1 (A1) 38,89%, tahap intervensi (B) 52,78%, dan pada tahap baseline 2 (A2) 71,11%. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode phonetic placement dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan konsonan bilabial /b/ pada subjek L. Peneliti merekomendasikan metode phonetic placement untuk menjadi salah satu metode yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran artikulasi.

    THE APPLICATION OF PHONETIC PLACEMENT METHOD IN IMPROVING THE ARTICULATION OF BILABIAL CONSONANT /B/
    IN CHILDREN WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT
    CLASS VII SMPLB AT SLB INSAN SEJAHTERA

    Subject L is a child with hearing impairment at SLB Insan Sejahtera who has problems with the pronunciation of bilabial consonants /b/, namely substitution with the letters /p/ and /m/ and the occurrence of omission or deletion of letters. The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the application of the phonetic placement method in improving the articulation ability of bilabial consonants (/b/) at the beginning, middle, and end of words. The method used in this study is the SSR (Single Subject Research) method, a quantitative approach with an A-B-A design. The instrument in this study is an oral test using words with bilabial consonants (/b/). Based on the results of the study, the application of the phonetic placement method had good results in increasing the pronunciation of bilabial consonants /b/ in L subjects, with a mean level of 38.89% at the baseline 1 (A1) stage, 52.78% at the intervention stage (B), and 71.11% at the baseline 2 (A2) stage. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the phonetic placement method can improve the ability to pronounce the consonant bilabial /b/ in the subject L. The researcher recommends the phonetic placement method as one of the methods that can be used in articulation learning.
