Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model pembelajaran game based learning menggunakan media permainan LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) dengan materi perubahan iklim dan pemanasan global. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif Pre-Experimental design dengan desain penelitian One Grup Pretest-Posttest. Populasi yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri Kabupaten Subang. Partisipan penelitian ini berjumlah 36 peserta didik, akan tetapi peneliti hanya menggunakan 32 peserta didik karena 4 peserta didik memiliki peran lain untuk membantu peneliti dalam melakukan perlakuan di kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan berjumlah 15 butir soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan memahami menggunakan perhitungan N-Gain, sedangkan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran game based learning menggunakan media permainan LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) menggunakan uji statistik dan Effect Size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas yang diterapkan model pembelajaran game based learning menggunakan media permainan LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) memiliki nilai N-Gain kemampuan memahami sebesar <g> = 0,54 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Sedangkan untuk hasil perhitungan Effect Size kemampuan memahami dengan nilai 2,22 yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Dengan demikian penerapan model pembelajaran game based learning dinilai efektif terhadap kemampuan memahami pada materi perubahan iklim dan pemanasan global. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the game based learning model using the LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) game media with the material of climate change and global warming. The research method used is the quantitative Pre-Experimental design method with the One Group Pretest-Posttest research design. The population selected in this study were all grade X students at one of the State Senior High Schools in Subang Regency. The participants in this study were 36 students, but the researcher only used 32 students because 4 students had other roles to help the researcher in carrying out the treatment in class. The instruments used were 15 questions. The data analysis technique used to determine the increase in understanding ability used the N-Gain calculation, while to determine the effectiveness of the game based learning model using the LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) game media using statistical tests and Effect Sizes. The results showed that the class that applied the game based learning model using the LUAK (Ludonya Anak Fisika) game media had an N-Gain value of understanding ability of <g> = 0.54 which was included in the moderate category. Meanwhile, the calculation result of Effect Size of understanding ability with a value of 2.22 which is included in the very high category. Thus, the application of game based learning model is considered effective for understanding ability in climate change and global warming material.
