    Abstract

    Pendidikan adalah upaya untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan mengembangkan potensi peserta didik secara optimal. Pada masa remaja, siswa SMP sering mengalami ketidakstabilan emosi dan pengendalian diri, yang dapat memicu perilaku agresif. Kontrol diri menjadi faktor penting dalam mempengaruhi munculnya perilaku agresif tersebut. Penelitian bertujuan untuk memahami hubungan antara perilaku agresif dan kemampuan kontrol diri pada siswa. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan studi korelasional, penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 14 Kota Tasikmalaya dengan melibatkan 300 siswa kelas VIII pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tertutup berbasis skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat perilaku agresif siswa berada dalam kategori agresif dengan skor rata-rata 71,81, sementara kemampuan kontrol diri berada pada kategori baik dengan skor rata-rata 69,68. Terdapat hubungan negatif antara perilaku agresif dan kemampuan kontrol diri, di mana semakin tinggi kontrol diri, semakin rendah kecenderungan untuk berperilaku agresif. Sebaliknya, rendahnya kontrol diri cenderung meningkatkan perilaku agresif. Rekomendasi untuk bimbingan dan konseling adalah merancang layanan yang fokus pada peningkatan kontrol diri untuk mengurangi perilaku agresif. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mlakukan penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai konsep kemampuan kontrol diri dan perilaku agresif pada remaja.

    Education is an effort to create a conducive learning environment and develop students' potential optimally. During adolescence, junior high school students often experience emotional instability and self-control, which can trigger aggressive behavior. Self-control is an important factor in influencing the emergence of aggressive behavior. The study aims to understand the relationship between aggressive behavior and self-control ability in students. Using a quantitative approach with descriptive methods and correlational studies, the research was conducted at SMP Negeri 14 Tasikmalaya City involving 300 students in class VIII in the 2023/2024 school year. The instrument used was a Likert scale-based closed questionnaire. The results showed that the level of aggressive behavior of students was in the aggressive category with an average score of 71.81, while self-control ability was in the good category with an average score of 69.68. There is a negative relationship between aggressive behavior and self-control ability, where the higher the self-control, the lower the tendency to behave aggressively. Conversely, low self-control tends to increase aggressive behavior. Recommendations for guidance and counseling are to design services that focus on increasing self-control to reduce aggressive behavior. Further research is recommended to conduct further research on the concept of self-control ability and aggressive behavior in adolescents.
