Abstract

Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam memegang peranan penting dalam pendidikan karakter peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran dari guru AQUBA untuk meningkatkan religiusitas siswa pada elemen profil pelajar Pancasila yang dilaksanakan di SMP Islam Al Azhar 36 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus (case study research). Responden penelitian ini adalah guru AQUBA, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, dan siswa SMP Islam Al Azhar 36 Bandung. Peneliti sendiri bertindak sebagai instrumen kunci dalam memperoleh data yang dibutuhkan. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan tiga teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Analisis data yang dilakukan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan pengambilan kesimpulan. Untuk menjamin validitas data, peneliti menggunakan triangulasi dan melakukan member-check. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru AQUBA berperan sebagai teladan dan motivator bagi siswa, sebagai pengajar di kelas, pendidik, menjadi fasilitator dalam proses pengembangan karakter religius siswa, serta berperan sebagai tim keagamaan yang mengelola kegiatan keagamaan yang diselenggarakan di sekolah. Pendidikan karakter dilakukan melalui pembelajaran di kelas dan kegiatan pembiasaan aktivitas keagamaan di sekolah, dengan mengintegrasikan kurikulum merdeka dan kurikulum khas Al Azhar sebagai penunjang karakter Islami siswa. Terdapat kegiatan yang menjadi unggulan yaitu pelaksanaan jam adab setiap satu pekan sekali untuk siswa. Adanya kurikulum dan kultur sekolah yang Islami serta kolaborasi dari seluruh pihak menjadi faktor pendukung dalam pengembangan karakter religius siswa. Hasil penelitian merekomendasikan akan pentingnya kerja sama dari semua pihak, di samping peran guru PAI, dalam membentuk lingkungan yang kondusif untuk tumbuh kembang karakter religius peserta didik di sekolah. Islamic Religious Education teachers play an important role in the character education for students. This study aims to describe the role of teachers of the AQUBA to increase student religiosity in the elements of the Pancasila student profile which was carried out at Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School 36 Bandung. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study research method. The respondents to this study were teachers of the AQUBA, vice principals for curriculum, and students of Al Azhar Islamic Junior High School 36 Bandung. The researcher himself acts as a key instrument in obtaining the required data. In this study, the researcher used three data collection techniques, namely observation, interview, and document study. The data analysis carried out is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion making. To ensure the validity of the data, the researcher used triangulation and member-checking. The results of the study can be concluded that teachers of the AQUBA act as role models and motivators for students, as classroom teachers, educators, facilitators in the process of developing students' religious character, and act as a religious team that manages religious activities held in schools. Character education is carried out through classroom learning and habituation activities of religious activities at school, by integrating the independent curriculum and the typical Al Azhar curriculum to support the Islamic character of students. There is an activity that is a highlight, namely the implementation of a manners hour once a week for students. The existence of an Islamic school curriculum and culture as well as collaboration from all parties are supporting factors in the development of students' religious character. The results of the study recommend the importance of cooperation from all parties, in addition to the role of PAI teachers, in forming an environment that is conducive to the growth and development of students' religious character in schools.
