Abstract
This study explores mental health literacy among students at SMAN 9 Bandung using a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental design, specifically a one-group pretest-posttest design. Mental health literacy, which includes knowledge of symptoms of disorders, prevention efforts, self-help, and first aid, is crucial for reducing stigma and increasing acceptance of mental health care. The results indicate that 40.95% of students have a fairly high level of mental health literacy, 10.24% have a very high level, and 36% have a high level, although 10.9% still have low literacy. The peer guidance program proved effective in improving literacy, but the still low achievements indicate the need for further intervention. Disparities in mental health literacy are influenced by economic factors, parental education, and social support. The study also faced limitations, such as the lack of a control group and potential bias in the self-report method. Despite the progress, additional efforts are needed to improve the research design and address limitations to enhance understanding and support for mental health among adolescents.
