Abstract

Social awareness merupakan kesadaran individu terhadap aspek-aspek sosial di sekitarnya yang termasuk sikap menghargai antar pribadi. Sekolah sebagai sarana yang memiliki peran cukup penting guna membangun social awareness sebagaimana sejalan dengan tujuan pendidikan nasional. Namun pada kenyataannya, konsep social awareness masih kurang khususnya di lingkungan sekolah yang melibatkan siswa itu tersendiri, berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan peneliti, masih banyak masalah yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah akibat masih kurangnya social awareness siswa, seperti terjadinya peristiwa bullying yang akan berdampak pada berbagai aspek yang berkaitan dengan sekolah. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Value ClarificationTechnique dalam Upaya Meningkatkan Social Awareness pada Siswa Kelas III SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan design one group pre-test post-test. Penelitian melakukan pengumpulan data menggunakan angket. Hasil dari penelitian yang didapatkan dengan menggunakan Uji T dan Uji N-Gain menunjukkan bahwa Model VCT berpengaruh secara signifikan dalam kategori sedang terhadap peningkatan social awareness siswa kelas III SD. Dapat dilihat juga pada mean nilai pre-test dan post-test yang meningkat 10% setelah digunakan model VCT. Sebagai rekomendasi, model VCT bisa diterapkan dalam pembelajaran materi-materi yang berkaitan dengan penanaman nilai kepada siswa. Social awareness is an individual's awareness of the social aspects around him which includes interpersonal respect. Schools as a means have an important role in building social awareness in line with national education goals. However, in reality, the concept of social awareness is still lacking, especially in school environments that involve individual students. Based on the results of observations made by researchers, there are still many problems that occur in the school environment due to a lack of student social awareness, such as bullying incidents which will have an impact on various aspects related to school. So this research aims to determine the effect of the Value Clarification Technique model in efforts to increase social awareness in third grade elementary school students. This research is a quantitative research with a one group pre-test post-test design. The research collected data using a questionnaire. The results of the research obtained using the T Test and N-Gain Test show that the VCT Model has a significant effect in the medium category on increasing social awareness of third grade elementary school students. It can also be seen that the mean pre-test and post-test scores increased by 10% after using the VCT model. As a recommendation, the VCT model can be applied in learning materials related to instilling values in students.
