Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan dimana belum semua peserta didik lancar dalam membaca dan upaya yang telah dilakukan guru belum menunjukkan hasil yang baik serta kurang beragamnya media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran big book berbantuan metode suku kata pada pembelajaran membaca permulaan untuk peserta didik kelas I sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RnD) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Model ADDIE ini terdiri dari lima tahapan antara lain analyze, design, development, implement dan evaluate. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, validasi para ahli dan angket respon peserta didik serta guru pada saat uji coba. Hasil validasi kepada para ahli, media big book berbantuan metode suku kata mendapatkan nilai persentase sebesar 88,2% dari ahli media dengan kategori sangat layak, 100% dari ahli materi dengan kategori sangat layak, 75% dari ahli desain pembelajaran dengan kategori layak, serta 94,2% dari pengguna dengan kategori sangat layak. Adapun saat tahap implementasi mendapatkan persentase 89,9% dari respon peserta didik dan 94,2% dari respon guru pada uji coba terbatas, sedangkan pada uji coba luas respon peserta didik mendapatkan persentase 88,3% dan respon guru mendapatkan persentase 93,15%. Dari data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa media big book berbantuan metode suku kata yang telah dikembangkan sangat layak dan sangat praktis digunakan dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan di sekolah dasar. This research is motivated by problems in learning to read beginning where not all students are fluent in reading and the efforts that have been made by teachers have not shown good results and the lack of variety of learning media used in learning to read beginning. This study aims to develop big book learning media assisted by the syllable method in learning beginning reading for grade I elementary school students. This research uses the Research and Development (RnD) method using the ADDIE model. This ADDIE model consists of five stages including analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate. The data in this study were collected through interviews, observations, documentation studies, expert validation and student and teacher response questionnaires during the trial. The results of validation to experts, big book media assisted by the syllable method get a percentage value of 88.2% from media experts with a very feasible category, 100% from material experts with a very feasible category, 75% from learning design experts with a feasible category, and 94.2% from users with a very feasible category. As for the implementation stage, it got a percentage of 89.9% from the students' response and 94.2% from the teacher's response in the limited trial, while in the broad trial the students' response got a percentage of 88.3% and the teacher's response got a percentage of 93.15%. The data shows that the big book media assisted by the syllable method that has been developed is very feasible and very practical to use in learning beginning reading in elementary schools.
