Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang menjadi salah satu muatan yang tertera dalam Kepmendikbudristek. Namun seiring berubahnya kurikulum, muatan Bahasa Inggris hanya termasuk ke dalam mata pelajaran tambahan sehingga siswa kurang memiliki kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Di era teknologi ini, tugas seorang guru ialah mengembangkan teknologi pembelajaran terlebih di mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Dengan demikian, diperlukannya pengembangan media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan penguasaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengembangan media scratch, tingkat kelayakan media scratch, dampak dari pengembangan media scratch, dan respons pengguna dari penggunaan media scratch di kelas IV SD. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah design and development (D&D) tipe II model validation. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas IV dan sampel di kelas IV A dan IV E. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media interaktif scratch dapat mengatasi permasalahan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman. Hasil penelitian expert judgement ahli pembelajaran, ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli bahasa menunjukkan hasil “sangat valid” dengan metode uji V aiken. Hasil perhitungan N gain dari soal formatif pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan kategori “sedang” terhadap peningkatan penguasaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman. Selanjutnya hasil respons pengguna media baik oleh guru dan siswa memiliki nilai yang “sangat sesuai” dari perhitungan analisis modus dengan indikator kebahasaan, isi materi, kemudahan, produk media, dan dampak penggunaan media. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media interaktif scratch sangat baik digunakan untuk melatih penguasaan keterampilan membaca pemahaman Bahasa Inggris siswa kelas IV. ------------ This research is based on the background of English learning is one of the contents listed in the Kepmendikbudristek. However, as the curriculum changes, English content is only included in additional subjects, so students lack reading comprehension skills. In this technological era, the task of a teacher is to develop learning technology, especially in English subjects. Thus, it is necessary to develop learning media to improve the mastery of reading comprehension skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of scratch media, the feasibility level of scratch media, the impact of scratch media development, and user responses from scratch media in grade IV SD. The research method used is the design and development (D&D) type II validation model. The population of this study was all grade IV and the samples were in grade IV A and IV E. The results showed that scratch interactive media can overcome the problems of reading comprehension skills. The results of expert judgment research of learning experts, material experts, media experts, and linguists show the results of "very valid" with Aiken's V test method. The results of the N gain calculation from the pre-test and post-test formative questions showed a "medium" category towards increasing mastery of reading comprehension skills. Furthermore, the results of media user responses by teachers and students have a "very good" value from the calculation of mode analysis with indicators of language, material content, convenience, media products, and the impact of media use. Based on the study's results, it can be concluded that scratch interactive media is very well used to train mastery of English reading comprehension skills of grade IV students.
