Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat kemampuan membaca. Berdasarkan hasil data prasiklus bahwa kemampuan membaca siswa kelas II SDN 1 Margasari masih rendah. Maka peneliti melakukan Tindakan dengan menerapkan Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) selama proses pembelajaran dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart melalui 2 siklus dan diawali prasiklus. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDN 1 Margasari dengan subjek penelitian 22 siswa yang terdiri dari 6 siswa laki-laki dan 16 siswa perempuan. Terdapat peningkatan pada kemampuan membaca permulaan setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran yang bernama Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) berbantuan media gambar PowerPoint yang diperoleh dari hasil aktivitas guru dan siswa serta hasil belajar siswa. Hasil aktivitas guru dan siswa terdapat peningkatan pada siklus 1 sebesar 90,6% dan siklus II 100% dengan kategori sangat baik. Rata-rata hasil tes kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa pada pra siklus sebesar 67,8 dengan jumlah siswa tuntas 7 siswa. Siklus I memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 69,09 dengan jumlah siswa tuntas 12 siswa dan persentae ketuntasan sebesar 55%. Siklus II memperoleh nilai rata-rata 84,54 dengan jumlah siswa tuntas 21 siswa dan persentase ketuntasan sebesar 96% . Dengan demikian bahwa penerapan Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) berbantuan media gambar PowerPoint dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas II SDN 1 Margasari. ----- This research is based on a low level of reading ability. Based on the results of pre-cycle data, the reading ability of grade II students in SDN 1 Margasari is still low. So the researcher took action by applying the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) during the learning process with the aim of improving students' initial reading skills. This research was carried out using the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method with the design of Kemmis and McTaggart through 2 cycles and began with a pre-cycle. This research was carried out at SDN 1 Margasari with 22 students, consisting of 6 male students and 16 female students. There was an improvement in the initial reading ability after the implementation of a learning model called the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) with the help of PowerPoint image media obtained from the results of teacher and student activities and student learning outcomes. The results of teacher and student activities increased in cycle 1 by 90.6% in the very good category and in cycle II by 100% in the very good category. The average result of the initial reading ability test for students in the pre-cycle was 67.8, with 7 students completing it. Cycle I obtained an average score of 69.09, with 12 students completing it and a percentage of completion of 55%. Cycle II obtained an average score of 84.54, with 21 students completing it and a completion percentage of 96%. Thus, the application of the Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) assisted by PowerPoint image media can improve the initial reading ability of grade II students in SDN 1 Margasari.
