Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan karena rendahnya penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Inggris siswa Sekolah Dasar dan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang kurang inovatif. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Model kooperatif tipe Teams-Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan kartu permainan UNO dan peningkatan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kuasi eksperimen dengan design non-equivalent control group design, melibatkan 40 siswa kelas IV. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris dan lembar observasi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa model TGT berbantuan kartu UNO meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris siswa sebesar 46,9%. Uji N-Gain menunjukkan kelas eksperimen dengan model TGT berbantuan kartu UNO memiliki interpretasi tinggi dengan nilai 0,88, sedangkan kelas kontrol dengan model Jigsaw memiliki nilai 0,80. Meski perbedaan antara kedua kelas tidak signifikan, model TGT berbantuan kartu UNO tetap menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik. ----- This research was conducted due to the low mastery of English vocabulary of elementary school students and less innovative English learning. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of Teams-Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative model assisted by UNO game cards and the improvement of English vocabulary mastery in elementary school students. This research method used quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design, involving 40 fourth grade students. The instruments used were English vocabulary mastery test and observation sheet. The results of the analysis showed that the TGT model assisted by UNO cards increased students' mastery of English vocabulary by 46.9%. The N-Gain test showed that the experimental class with the TGT model assisted by UNO cards had a high interpretation with a value of 0.88, while the control class with the Jigsaw model had a value of 0.80. Although the difference between the two classes was not significant, the TGT model assisted by UNO cards still showed better results.
