Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan menulis karangan narasi peserta didik masih belum cukup baik. Hal tersebut terjadi karena peserta didik kesulitan dalam menuangkan ide atau gagasannya ke dalam bentuk tulisan, peserta didik juga kesulitan dalam memilih kata yang baik serta dalam penggunaan ejaan dan tanda baca. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas model kooperatif write around dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi peserta didik fase B. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimen tipe one group pretest-postest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV di SDN X Kota Bandung. Sampel yang terpilih adalah peserta didik kelas IV-D SDN X Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 28 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan menulis karangan narasi yang telah divalidasi sebelumnya. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji paired sample t-test, dan uji n-gain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan rata-rata sebelum dan setelah diberi perlakuan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji paired sample t-test dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil uji n-gain diperoleh skor sebesar 0,3268. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model kooperatif write around efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan narasi peserta didik fase B. Seberapa besar efektivitas tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil uji n-gain yang termasuk ke dalam kriteria keefektifan yang sedang. This research is motivated by the fact that students' ability to write narrative essays is still not good enough. This happens because students have difficulty expressing their thoughts or ideas into written form, students also have difficulty choosing good words and using spelling and punctuation. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the write around cooperative model in improving the ability to write narrative essays of phase B students. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one group pretest-posttest type pre-experimental design. The population of this study were all fourth grade elementary school students at SDN X Bandung City. The selected sample was 28 class IV D students at SDN X Bandung City. Data was collected using a previously validated narrative essay writing ability test instrument. The data analysis used was the normality test, paired sample t-test, and n-gain test. The results of this study show that there is a difference in averages before and after treatment. This is proven by the paired sample t-test with a significance value of 0.000. Apart from that, based on the results of the n-gain test, a score of 0.3268 was obtained. Thus, it can be concluded that the write around cooperative model is effective in improving the narrative essay writing ability of phase B. How much effectiveness it has can be seen from the results of the n-gain test which is included in the criteria for moderate effectiveness.
