Abstract
Matematika masih menjadi pelajaran yang ditakuti oleh siswa dan sering dianggap sukar. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan yang telah dilakukan di SD, ditemukan adanya permasalahan bahwa kurangnya pemahaman konsep matematis dan self-regulated learning (kemandirian belajar) siswa Sekolah Dasar. Hal ini dikarena pembelajaran matematika di SD kebanyakan masih konvensional atau teacher center. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan metode inquiry discovery learning pada materi satuan panjang terhadap pemahaman konsep dan self-regulated learning siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 45 siswa kelas III pada dua SD berakreditasi A di Kota Subang dengan jumlah 23 siswa kelas eksperimen dan 22 siswa kelas kontrol. Data yang didapat dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari pre-test dan post-test untuk kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, serta dari angket respon sikap self-regulated learning (kemandirian belajar) siswa kelas eksperimen setelah diberikan perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat diperoleh data bahwa terdapat perbedaan peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan self-regulated learning antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan metode inquiry discovery learning dan yang tidak. nilai sig = 0,01 dengan t hitung = 3,701 dan t tabel diperoleh dengan melihat tabel yang terlebih dahulu ditentukan df (derajat bebas) sehingga didapat :Df = n (jumlah reponden) – k (variabel penelitian), maka df = 45-2 = 43 dengan sig = 0,01 maka t tabel = 2,416, sehingga 0,01<0,05 dan 3,701>2,416, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara variabel penerapan metode inquiry discovery learning terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep, sehingga penerapan Metode inquiry discovery learning dalam pembelajaran matematika materi satuan panjang mendapat respon yang positif dari siswa. --------- Mathematics is still a subject that is feared by students and is often considered difficult. Based on preliminary studies carried out in elementary schools, it was found that there was a problem of lack of understanding of mathematical concepts and self-regulated learning (independent learning) of elementary school students. This is because most mathematics learning in elementary schools is still conventional or teacher centered. This research aims to determine application of the inquiry discovery learning method in mathematics learning on elementary school students' conceptual understanding and self-regulated learning. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 45 class III students at two A-accredited elementary schools in Subang City with 23 experimental class students and 22 control class students. The data obtained in this research were obtained from the pre-test and post-test for the experimental class and control class, as well as from the response questionnaire for the self-regulated learning attitudes of experimental class students after being given treatment. Based on the results of this research, data can be obtained that there is a difference in increasing understanding of concepts and self-regulated learning between students who receive learning using the inquiry discovery learning method and those who do not. sig value = 0.01 with calculated t = 3.701 and t table is obtained by looking at the table which first determines df (degrees of freedom) so that we get: Df = n (number of respondents) – k (research variables), then df = 45-2 = 43 with sig = 0.01 then ttable = 2.416, so that 0.01<0.05 and 3.701>2.416, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between the variables applying the inquiry discovery learning method on the ability to understand concepts, so that the application of the inquiry discovery learning method in learning mathematics with long unit material received a positive response from students.
