Abstract
Keterampilan merupakan hal yang sangat erat ikatan nya dengan manusia sebagai mahluk yang memiliki daya kemampuan otak yang paling sempurna, keterampilan menjadi modal utama manusia dalam mengembangkan nilai hidupnya menjadi lebih baik.. Salah satunya keterampilan mencari, memilih, mengolah, dan menggunakan informasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) model Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung sedangkan yang menjadi subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-A. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengembangan keterampilan mencari, memilih, mengolah, dan menggunakan informasi siswa melalui penerapan metode group investigation (investigasi kelompok) dalam pembelajaran IPS dapat dikatakan berhasil.Pada siklus 1 keterampilan siswa terhadap metode group investigation memperoleh kategori “cukup” dan hasil laporan kelompok dengan nilai 47, keterampilan mencari, memilih, mengolah, dan menggunakan informasi siswa dengan nilai 26. Pada siklus 2, siswa mengalami perkembangan dalam pemahaman siswa menggunakan metode group investigation memperoleh kategori “baik” dan hadil laporan kelompok dengan nilai 67, keterampilan mencari, memilih, mengolag, dan menggunakan informasi siswa dengan nilai 42. Kemudian pada siklus 3 atau siklus terakhir, siswa telah mencapai perkembangan pemahaman siswa menggunakan metode group investigation memperoleh hasil yang baik dan hasil laporan kelompok dengan nilai 82, keterampilan mencari, memilih, mengolah, dan menggunakan informasi siswa dengan nilai 45. Sehingga penilitian ini dapat diambil kesimpulan, bahwa dengan menggunakan metode group investigation pada pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan keterampilan, mencari, memilih, mengolah, dan menggunakan informasi pada siswa. One of the skills of searching, selecting, processing, and use information. The method used in this study using action research (classroom action research) model of Kemmis and Taggart. This research was conducted in Bandung while junior Pasundan 4 which is the subject of research is the students of class VIII-A. Implementation of skills development activities searching, selecting, processing, and use student information through the application of methods of group investigation (investigation group) in the IPS can be said berhasil.Pada learning cycle 1 students skills to group investigation method of obtaining the category of "pretty" and report the results of the group with 47, skill search, select, process, and use student information with a value of 26. at cycle 2, the students experienced growth in student understanding using group investigation methods obtain the category of "good" and hadil group with 67 reports, search skills, choosing, mengolag , and use student information with the value 42. Later in cycle 3 or the last cycle, the student has achieved the development of student understanding using group investigation method achieves good results and the results of the group with 82 reports, search skills, selecting, processing, and use student information with a value of 45. So this research can be concluded, that the group investigation method in social studies learning can improve skills, searching, selecting, processing, and use the information to students
