Abstract
Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah belum maksimalnya pembelajaran IPS di sekolah dasar (SD) dalam membina kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi berbasis isu sosiosaintifik sehingga kesempatan siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi masih pada kategori rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan model pembelajaran pengambilan keputusan rasional berbasis isu sosiosaintifik untuk membinakan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi kepada siswa SD. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah research and development yang diadaptasi dari Borg & Gall. Partisipan pada penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SD yang berada di wilayah Kota Cimahi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pedoman wawancara, lembar validasi, tes tertulis, lembar observasi, dan angket. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu 1) adanya kebutuhan model pembelajaran yang secara khusus memperhatikan pengembangan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi siswa SD; 2) model pembelajaran pengambilan keputusan rasional berbasis isu sosiosaintifik merupakan pembelajaran yang melibatkan peserta didik dalam proses pengambilan keputusan secara rasional berdasarkan informasi yang diperoleh dari berbagai sumber yang dianalisis, dievaluasi, dan digunakan dengan efektif untuk menyelesaikan isu-isu sosiosaintifik; dan 3) model pembelajaran pengambilan keputusan rasional berbasis isu sosiosaintifik efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi siswa kelas V SD khusunya pada pembelajaran IPS. Simpulan penelitiannya adalah model pengambilan keputusan rasional berbasis isu sosiosaintifik efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pengambilan keputusan dan literasi informasi siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di SD. Oleh karena itu, model pembelajaran pengambilan keputusan rasional berbasis isu sosiosaintifik dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan pada pembelajaran di SD untuk membina kemampuan pengambilan keputusan, literasi informasi, dan kompetensi abad 21 lainnya. The background of this research is that social studies learning in elementary schools has not been maximized in developing decision-making abilities and information literacy based on socio-scientific issues so students' opportunities to develop decision-making abilities and information literacy are still in the low category. This research aims to produce a learning model for rational decision-making based on socioscientific issues to develop decision-making skills and information literacy in elementary school students. The research method used is research and development adapted from Borg & Gall. Participants in this research were teachers and students of class V elementary school in the Cimahi City area. The research instruments used were interview guides, validation sheets, written tests, observation sheets, and questionnaires. The results of this research are 1) there is a need for a learning model that specifically pays attention to the development of elementary school students' decision-making abilities and information literacy; 2) the rational decision-making learning model based on socioscientific issues is learning that involves students in a rational decision making process based on information obtained from various sources which are analyzed, evaluated and used effectively to resolve socioscientific issues; and 3) the rational decision making learning model based on socioscientific issues is effective in improving the decision making abilities and information literacy of fifth-grade elementary school students, especially in social studies learning. The research concludes that the rational decision-making model based on socioscientific issues is effective in improving students' decision-making abilities and information literacy in social studies learning in elementary schools. Therefore, the rational decision-making learning model based on socioscientific issues can be used as an alternative learning model that can be used in elementary school learning to develop decision-making abilities, information literacy, and other 21st-century competencies
