Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media pipe cleaner untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengancingkan baju pada anak cerebral palsy spastik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen subjek tunggal atau Single Subject Research (SSR). Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu desain A-B-A. Subjek merupakan anak cerebral palsy spastik yang mengalami kekakuan pada anggota gerak bagian kiri (hemiplegia). Subjek mengalami peningkatan pada keterampilan mengancingkan baju setelah melakukan pembelajaran menggunakan media pipe cleaner. Mean level pada fase baseline 1 (A1) sebesar 48%, pada fase intervensi (B) sebesar 61,4%, dan pada fase baseline 2 (A2) sebesar 69%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan subjek mengalami peningkatan pada keterampilan memegang tepi kancing, mencocokkan lubang kancing, memasukkan kancing ke dalam lubang, memegang sisi kancing yang telah masuk dan menarik kancing keluar. Penggunaan media pipe cleaner juga dapat menciptakan suasana yang menyenangkan dan menarik perhatian subjek. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pipe cleaner dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengancingkan baju pada anak cerebral palsy spastik. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi sumber informasi bagi pendidik dan peneliti selanjutnya terkait penggunaan media pipe cleaner dalam pembelajaran keterampilan mengancingkan baju. This research study aimed to investigate the use of pipe cleaner media to improve the skill of buttoning clothes in children with spastic cerebral palsy. The research methodology employed was a quantitative approach utilizing a single-subject experiment or Single Subject Research (SSR) design. Specifically, an A-B-A design was implemented. The participant was a child diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy who experienced stiffness in the left limb (hemiplegia). The findings revealed that the participant demonstrated an increase in the ability to button clothes after receiving instruction using the pipe cleaner media. The mean level during the baseline 1 (A1) phase was 48%, which increased to 61.4% during the intervention (B) phase and further improved to 69% in the baseline 2 (A2) phase. The results indicated that the participant exhibited enhanced skills in holding the edge of the button, matching the button hole, inserting the button into the hole, holding the side of the inserted button, and pulling the button out. Additionally, the use of pipe cleaner media was observed to create a pleasant and engaging learning environment, which captured the participant's attention. These findings suggest that the utilization of pipe cleaner media can effectively improve the skill of buttoning clothes in children with spastic cerebral palsy. This research can serve as a valuable resource for educators and future researchers interested in exploring the application of pipe cleaner media in the context of teaching button-fastening skills.
