Abstract

Indonesia merupakan negara multikultural dengan mencakup berbagai etnis, agama, suku dan antar golongan, namun Indonesia menghadapi tantangan dalam pengelolaan keberagaman. Dimana masih terdapat konflik berbasis SARA yang ditemui di Indonesia hal ini menunjukan bahwa warga negara Indonesia masih kurang menunjukan toleransi keberagaman, sehingga berdampak terhadap stabilitas ketahanan nasional Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, kompetensi multikultural perlu diperkuat terutama melalui lembaga pendidikan seperti sekolah. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk menggali strategi penguatan kompetensi multikultural di SMA Taruna Bakti, yang secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk, Pertama mengidentifikasi implementasi program di SMA Taruna Bakti, yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat kompetensi multikultural warga negara. Kedua, mengetahui dampak penguatan kompetensi multikultural terhadap sikap bela negara dan partisipasi dalam membangun ketahanan nasional di kalangan peserta didik SMA Taruna Bakti. Terakhir, menyelidiki tantangan yang dihadapi dalam penguatan kompetensi multikultural di SMA Taruna Bakti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran (mixed methods) jenis convergent parallel yang menghubungkan data kualitatif dengan data kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa 1) Program penguatan kompetensi multikultural di SMA Taruna Bakti di implementasikan melalui strategi penguatan lingkungan sekolah, intrakurikuler, kokurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler. 2) penguatan kompetensi multikultural pada peserta didik SMA Taruna Bakti berdampak terhadap pemahaman peserta didik mengenai keberagaman sehingga mengurangi diskriminasi dan konflik SARA yang mendukung kemananan manusia dalam menjaga stabilitas ketahanan nasional. 3) Hambatan yang dihadapi SMA Taruna Bakti dalam penguatan kompetensi multikultural meliputi pengembangan pedoman sekolah pembauran, pelatihan guru, peningkatan fasilitas sekolah dan kerja sama dengan pemerintah dalam pengembangan sekolah. Indonesia is a multicultural country encompassing various ethnicities, religions, tribes, and intergroup dynamics, yet it faces challenges in managing diversity. Persistent conflicts based on ethnicity, religion, and race (known as SARA issues) indicate a lack of tolerance towards diversity among Indonesian citizens, thereby impacting the stability of Indonesia's national resilience. Consequently, enhancing multicultural competence, particularly through educational institutions like schools, is imperative. This research aims to explore strategies to strengthen multicultural competence at SMA Taruna Bakti, specifically focusing on three objectives: First, identifying program implementation at SMA Taruna Bakti aimed at enhancing multicultural competence among citizens. Second, understanding the impact of strengthening multicultural competence on national defense attitudes and participation in building national resilience among students at SMA Taruna Bakti. Lastly, investigating the challenges faced in strengthening multicultural competence at SMA Taruna Bakti. This research adopts a mixed methods approach, specifically a convergent parallel design that integrates qualitative and quantitative data through a case study research method. The findings reveal that: 1) The program to strengthen multicultural competence at SMA Taruna Bakti is implemented through strategies focusing on enhancing the school environment, intracurricular, cocurricular, and extracurricular activities. 2) Strengthening multicultural competence among students at SMA Taruna Bakti has a positive impact on their understanding of diversity, reducing discrimination and SARA conflicts, thus supporting human security and maintaining national resilience. 3) Obstacles in strengthening multicultural competence at SMA Taruna Bakti include developing school integration guidelines, teacher training, improving school facilities, and collaborating with the government in school development.
