Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya partisipasi siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS di kelas V, sehingga hal ini berdampak pada pemahaman mereka. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis penerapan metode Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) di kelas V-B SDN IV Kuningan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) selama tiga siklus. Instrumen penelitian mencakup Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran dan berbagai instrumen pengungkapan data seperti Lembar Observasi Terstruktur, Instrumen Tes, serta instrumen non-tes seperti catatan lapangan, foto, dan video. Teknik pengumpulan data melibatkan observasi, dokumentasi, catatan lapangan, dan tes. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode kondensasi, penyajian data, pengambilan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode LSQ efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keaktifan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam hasil belajar peserta didik dari siklus I hingga siklus III, dengan tingkat keaktifan mencapai puncak 90,5% pada siklus III. Pemahaman peserta didik juga mengalami peningkatan positif dari siklus ke siklus. Jumlah peserta didik yang mencapai Kompetensi Minimum Kelulusan (KKM) meningkat setiap siklus, mencapai 75% pada siklus III. Proses refleksi dan penyesuaian pada setiap siklus memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap kesuksesan metode pembelajaran. Implikasi penelitian ini mencakup potensi penerapan metode Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) untuk meningkatkan partisipasi, pemahaman, dan keaktifan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas V. This research is motivated by the low participation of students in Social Studies in the fifth grade, impacting their understanding. The research aims to analyze the implementation of the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) method in class V-B SDN IV Kuningan, conducted using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method over three cycles. Research instruments include Lesson Implementation Plans and various data disclosure instruments such as Structured Observation Sheets, Test Instruments, and non-test instruments like field notes, photos, and videos. Data collection techniques involve observation, documentation, field notes, and tests. Data analysis in this research employs condensation, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and data verification methods. The results indicate the effectiveness of the LSQ method in improving students' understanding and engagement in Social Studies learning. There is a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes from Cycle I to Cycle III, with the level of engagement reaching its peak at 90.5% in Cycle III. Students' understanding also shows a positive increase from cycle to cycle. The number of students who reached the Minimum Competency Graduation (MCG) increases each cycle, reaching 75% in Cycle III. Reflection and adjustment processes in each cycle contribute positively to the success of the teaching method. The implications of this research include the potential application of the Learning Start with a Question (LSQ) method to enhance student participation, understanding, and engagement in Social Studies learning in the fifth grade.
