Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan sosial siswa Kelas V SDN Perumnas 2 Kabupaten Subang Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji secara empirik efektivitas bimbingan kelompok melalui pemainan tradisional baren/rerebonan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa angket keterampilan sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) keterampilan sosial siswa pada umumnya berada dalam kategori tinggi. Secara umum, aspek keterampilan sosial siswa yang menjadi sampel penelitian berada pada kategori sedang; (2) layanan bimbingan kelompok dirancang berdasarkan aspek keterampilan sosial dengan kategori sedang; (3) bimbingan kelompok melalui permainan tradisional baren/rerebonan terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Rekomendasi penelitian ditujukan bagi: (1) wali kelas/guru mata pelajaran, diharapkan mampu berkolaborasi dalam mengimplementasikan program bimbingan kelompok melalui permainan tradisional ke dalam kegiatan pembelajaran; dan (2) peneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan dapat memperluas pengetahuan mengenai berbagai permainan tradisional sehingga dapat diterapkan sebagai salah satu strategi bimbingan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial siswa. Kata kunci: keterampilan sosial; bimbingan kelompok; permainan tradisional; siswa sekolah dasar The research is motivated by the lack of social skills of Class V Students at SDN Perumnas 2 Kabupaten Subang School Year 2012/2013. The purpose of study is to test empirically the effectiveness of group guidance through traditional games baren/rerebonan in increasing students’ social skills. The method used is action research using instruments such as social skills questionnaires. The result shows: (1) social skills of students in general are in the high category. In general, aspect of social skills of students selected as sample are in middle category; (2) group guidance services designed based on aspects of social skills with medium category; (3) group guidance through traditional games baren/rerebonan is shown to be effective in increasing social skills of students. Research recommendation is made for: (1) subject teachers and homeroom, they are wished to be able to collaborate in implementing group guidance program through traditional games into learning activities; and (2) further research hoped is able to expand knowledge of various traditional games so far as it can be applied as one of the guidance strategies to improve students' social skills.
