Abstract

Teknologi jaringan kabel serat optik menjadi hal yang penting di era internet yang semakin cepat sehingga diperlukan pemahaman serta keterampilan yang baik dalam mengoperasikan dan merawat jaringan tersebut. Sekolah menengah kejuruan di bidang teknologi jaringan akses berperan penting sebagai wadah untuk melatih siswa menguasai keterampilan instalasi jaringan serat optik yang dibutuhkan industri. Penting bagi siswa menguasai keterampilan dasar seperti menyambung dan mengukur redaman kabel serat optik. Dalam upaya melatih keterampilan siswa diperlukan kegiatan praktik untuk membantu siswa memahami serta menguasai keterampilan yang dibutuhkan. Namun dengan keterbatasan sarana serta waktu praktik di sekolah diperlukan media pembelajaran sebagai panduan siswa dalam belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu siswa dalam kegiatan praktik dengan membuat modul praktikum penyambungan dan pengukuran kabel serat optik dan menguji kelayakan modul tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu, Kuantitatif dengan pendekatan research and development yang melibatkan para ahli materi dan ahli media untuk menguji modul serta 30 siswa untuk memberikan respon terkait modul yang sudah dibuat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul dinyatakan sangat valid oleh ahli materi dan ahli media berdasarkan uji validitas modul, dan hasil respon siswa terhadap modul yang telah dibuat juga sangat baik/sangat menarik. ; Optical fiber network technology has become important in the increasingly fast internet era, so good understanding and skills are needed in operating and maintaining the network. Vocational high schools, especially in the field of access network technology, play an important role as a forum for training students to master optical fiber network installation skills needed by industry. Therefore, students need to master basic skills such as connecting and measuring optical fiber attenuation. So, to train students’ skills, practical activities are needed to help students understand and master the skills needed. However, with limited facilities and practice time at school, learning media is needed to guide students in learning. This research aims to assist students in practical activities by creating a practical module for connecting and measuring fiber optic cables and testing the feasibility of the module. The research method used is quantitative with research and development approach involving material experts and media experts to test the module and 30 students to respond to the module that has been created. The research results showed that the module was declared very valid by material experts and media experts based on the module validity test, and the results of student responses to the modules that have been made were also very good/very interesting.
