Abstract

Kemampuan anak dalam berinteraksi sosial dapat mempengaruhi anak dalam mendukung penerimaan sosial di lingkungan tempatnya berada dan dapat mempengaruhi anak dalam motivasi belajar. Namun, anak dengan gangguan ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) memiliki kelainan perilaku yang ditandai dengan gejala seperti kurangnya rentang perhatian (inatensi), hiperaktif dan impulsif. Hal tersebut menyababkan anak menjadi kesulitan dalam berinteraksi bersama temannya. Untuk itu, metode PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) diharapkan mampu menjadi metode pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan anak dalam berinteraksi karena metode PECS menggunakan media visual yang memudahkan anak ADHD dalam pembelajaran yang cenderung mengedepankan visual learner. Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses penerapan metode PECS dan mengetahui bagaimana pengaruhnya terhadap peningkatan kemampuan anak ADHD dalam berinteraksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan pendekatan kuantitatif (mix methode) dengan jenis metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) atau biasa disebut dengan istilah (classroom action research). Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat satu anak yang mengalami gangguan ADHD dengan tipe kombinasi. Dengan metode PECS yang menggunakan media communication book dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berinteraksi anak ADHD sebanyak rata-rata peningkatan sebesar g = 0,2 yang ditunjukkan dengan penerapan keenam fase dan satu fase tambahan yang berhasil diterapkan tanpa adanya penolakan. Tingkat penolakan ajakan bermain pun berkurang. Anak juga mau untuk bermain bersama teman-temanya. Hal tersebut juga dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan aspek perkembangan prososial anak usia 5-6 tahun. -------------- A child's ability to interact socially can influence children in supporting social acceptance in the environment where they are and can influence children's motivation to learn. However, children with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) have behavioral disorders characterized by symptoms such as lack of attention span (inattention), hyperactivity and impulsivity. This causes children to have difficulty interacting with their friends. For this reason, the PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) method is expected to be able to become a learning method to improve children's ability to interact because the PECS method uses visual media which makes it easier for ADHD children to learn who tend to prioritize visual learners. This research aims to find out the process of implementing the PECS method and find out how it affects the improvement of ADHD children's ability to interact. This research uses a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach (mix method) with the type of classroom action research (PTK) method or commonly referred to as (classroom action research). The results of the research findings show that there is one child who has a combination type of ADHD disorder. With the PECS method which uses communication book media, it can improve the interaction skills of ADHD children by an average increase of g = 0,2 as shown by the implementation of the six phases and one additional phase which was successfully implemented without any resistance. The rate of rejection of invitations to play also decreased. Children also want to play with their friends. This is also proven by an increase in the prosocial development aspects of children aged 5-6 years.
