Abstract
Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Strategi Pembelajaran Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) terhadap Penguasaan Konsep dan Keterampilan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMA Pada Materi Sistem Sirkulasi”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) terhadap penguasaan konsep dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa SMA pada materi sistem sirkulasi. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan non-equivalent control group design dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA yang terdiri atas kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan strategi pembelajaran Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen tes digunakan untuk mengukur penguasaan konsep siswa berupa soal pilihan ganda, serta untuk keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa berupa soal uraian. Instrumen non-tes berupa angket juga digunakan untuk mengetahui respon siswa terkait strategi pembelajaran PODE dan observasi keterlaksanaan penerapannya saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Berdasarkan temuan-temuan penelitian, didapatkan hasil bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa tidak berbeda signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Adapun keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa menunjukkan hasil yang berbeda signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol setelah pembelajaran sistem sirkulasi. Hasil respon siswa setelah pembelajaran dengan strategi Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) pada materi sistem sirkulasi positif. Simpulan hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa strategi pembelajaran Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) tidak berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep siswa, tetapi berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi sistem sirkulasi. This research is titled "The Influence of the Predict-Observe-Discuss-Explain (PODE) Learning Strategy on High School Students' to the Mastery Concepts and Problem-Solving Skills in the Circulatory System Material". The purpose of this research is to obtain information related to the influence of the Predict-Observe-Discuss-Explain (PODE) learning strategy on the mastery concepts and problem-solving skills of high school students in the circulatory system material. This research design used in this study is a non-equivalent control group design, with research subjects being eleventh-grade science students consisting of an experimental class treated with the Predict-Observe-Discuss-Explain (PODE) learning strategy and a control class using conventional learning. The test instrument are used to measure students' mastery concepts through multiple-choice questions, as well as their problem-solving skills through open-ended questions. Non-test instruments, such as questionnaires, are also employed to gather information on students' responses about PODE learning strategy, and observations to assess the implementation during the learning process. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that there is no significant difference in students concept mastery between the experimental class and the control class. However, students' problem-solving skills show a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class after learning the circulation system. The student responses after learning with PODE strategy on circulatory system material are positive. In conclusion, the research results state that the Predict- Observe- Discuss- Explain (PODE) learning strategy does not affect students' concept mastery but does impact students’ problem-solving skills in the circulatory system material.
