Abstract
Adanya anggapan bahwa pelajaran matematika adalah salah satu mata pelajaran yang sulit, mengakibatkan kurangnya minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika, membuat peneliti merasa tertarik untuk melaksanakan penelitian. Salah satu faktor yang dapat menyebabkan anggapan itu muncul adalah karena keabstrakan objek matematika dan proses pembelajaran di dalam kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa kelas V pada mata pelajaran matematika khususnya materi bangun ruang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sindanggalih yang bertempat di Jl. Noenoeng Tisna Saputra Kecamatan Tawang Kota Tasikmalaya. Adapun populasi dan sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas V A Sekolah Dasar Negeri Sindanggalih yang berjumlah 33 orang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya yaitu pre-eksperimental design¬ dengan tipe one group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti adalah dengan menggunakan teknik tes. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian diolah dan dianalisis secara kuantitatif guna mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kontekstual terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematika khususnya dalam materi bangun ruang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 75,30 atau sekitar 76% yang kemudian meningkat 12,37 atau sekitar 12% pada hasil nilai rata-rata posttest yaitu sebesar 87,67 atau sekitar 88%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, peneliti menarik kesimpulan bahwa dengan meningkatnya nilai rata-rata skor pretest dan posttest tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran kontekstual efektif terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika khususnya dalam materi bangun ruang. The notion that math is one of those subjects that are difficult, resulting in a lack of student interest in mathematics, making researchers were interested in carrying out research. One of the factors that can lead to the assumption that arises is due to the abstractness of mathematical objects and learning process in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the improved understanding of contextual learning fifth grade students in mathematics in particular geometrical material. This research was conducted at the State Primary School Sindanggalih which located on Jl. Noenoeng Tisna Saputra Tawang District of Tasikmalaya. The population and the sample used is the Grade Elementary School Sindanggalih VA totaling 33 people. The method used is to design experimental research method that is pre-experimental research design with the type ¬ one group pretest-posttest design. Research data collection techniques by researchers is to use test techniques. Collected data is then processed and analyzed quantitatively to determine the effectiveness of contextual learning towards an improved understanding of the students in the subjects of mathematics, especially in the wake of material space. The results showed the average value of the results of the pretest was 75.30, or about 76%, which then increased 12.37, or about 12% on the average value of the results of the posttest in the amount of 87.67 or about 88%. Based on the analysis results, the researchers conclude that the increase in the average value of the pretest and posttest scores showed that contextual learning effectively to the improvement of student understanding in mathematics, especially in the wake of material space.
