Abstract

Fenomena catcalling merupakan sebuah pelecehan seksual verbal yang seringkali dilakukan oleh pelaku yang bersiul, menggoda, dan memuji dan umumnya terjadi pada perempuan. Tindakan catcalling biasanya terjadi di ruang publik, seperti di jalan, di mall, dan bahkan di kampus. Anggapan masyarakat mengenai catcalling sebagai sebuah candaan ternyata tidaklah benar. Adapun tujuan umum penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui fenomena catcalling pada mahasiswi bercadar di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Korban pada penelitian ini merupakan Mahasiswi bercadar Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Untuk memperoleh data yang dibutuhkan maka peneliti melakukan teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah; 1) Bentuk Catcalling yang dialami mahasiswi bercadar yaitu berupa siulan, tatapan melecehkan, salam, sapaan, rayuan, komentar berbau seksual; 2) Dampak catcalling terbagi menjadi dua yakni dampak psiko-sosial dan dampak sosial. Korban mengalami perasaan takut, cemas, minder, risih, dan trauma akibat catcalling, yang dapat mengganggu kehidupan sehari-hari dan hubungan sosial mereka. Korban juga menjadi lebih waspada pada laki-laki dan merasa tidak aman di ruang publik; 3) Upaya yang dilakukan untuk menanggulangi catcalling pada mahasiswi bercadar Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia yakni dengan menyampaikan permohonan agar pelaku menghentikan perilaku, berjalan tanpa menanggapi catcalling, dan memberikan respon berupa meninggikan suara atau tanda-tanda ketidaksetujuan. The phenomenon of catcalling is a verbal sexual harassment that is often carried out by perpetrators who whistle, tease, and praise, and generally occurs against women. Catcalling usually occurs in public spaces, such as on the street, in malls, and even on campuses. The public's perception of catcalling as a joke is not true. The general aim of this research is to find out the phenomenon of catcalling in veiled female students at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The victims in this study were veiled female students at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. To obtain the required data, the researchers used data collection techniques by means of in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results of this study were: 1) Catcalling experienced by veiled female students was in the form of whistling, harassing glances, greetings, greetings, seductions, sexual comments; 2) Catcalling impacts are divided into two, namely psycho-social impacts and social impacts. Victims experience feelings of fear, anxiety, inferiority, embarrassment, and trauma due to catcalling, which can interfere with their daily lives and social relationships. Victims also became more wary of men and felt insecure in public spaces; 3) Efforts were made to deal with catcalling in veiled female students at the Indonesian University of Education, namely by submitting a request for the perpetrator to stop the behavior, walk without responding to catcalling, and provide a response in the form of raising their voice or showing signs of disapproval.
