Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat baca, kurangnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman, dan pendekatan pembelajaran bahasa yang kurang menarik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media e-book dengan pendekatan EMRED terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dikelas IV SD Negeri Serang 09. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif yaitu quasi experimental design dengan bentuk pretest-posttest control group design. Sebanyak 40 siswa dipilih sebagai sampel, 20 siswa eksperimen dan 20 siswa kontrol. Sampel diambil dengan menggunakan teknik probability sampling yaitu simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan tes soal pilihan ganda dan kuesioner. Dari hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media e-book Storyweaver dengan pendekatan EMRED untuk kemampuan membaca pemahaman meningkat lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari perolehan nilai rata-rata pre-test kelas eksperimen yakni 64,5 dan kelas kontrol yakni 56,25 sedangkan perolehan nilai rata-rata post-test kelas eksperimen yakni 83,00 dan kelas kontrol yakni 69,5 serta hasil dari uji hipotesis yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,007 < 0,05 dimana Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak yang artinya terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media e-book Storyweaver dengan pendekatan EMRED terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV SDN Serang 09. Hasil angket respon siswa memiliki hasil rata-rata penilaian sebesar 92,4% dengan kategori sangat kuat menggunakan media e-book Storyweaver dengan pendekatan EMRED. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan media e-book Storyweaver dengan pendekatan EMRED dapat berpengaruh dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Serang 09. This research was motivated by a lack of interest in reading, a lack of reading comprehension skills, and a less interesting language learning approach. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using e-book media with the EMRED approach on the reading comprehension abilities of students in class IV of SD Negeri Serang 09. The approach used is a quantitative approach, namely quasi experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 40 students were selected as samples, 20 experimental students and 20 control students. Samples were taken using probability sampling techniques, namely simple random sampling. The data collection technique is using multiple choice questions and questionnaires. From the research results, it shows that the use of Storyweaver e-book media with the EMRED approach improves reading comprehension skills better than conventional learning. This can be seen from the average pre-test score obtained for the experimental class, namely 64.5 and the control class, namely 56.25, while the average post-test score obtained for the experimental class was 83.00 and the control class, namely 69.5 and the results from the hypothesis test carried out shows that the Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.007 < 0.05 where Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, which means that there is an influence of using the Storyweaver e-book media with the EMRED approach on the reading comprehension ability of fourth grade students at SDN Serang 09. The results of the student response questionnaire have average results an assessment of 92.4% with a very strong category using the Storyweaver e-book media with the EMRED approach. So it can be concluded that using the Storyweaver e-book media with the EMRED approach can be more influential than conventional learning in improving the reading comprehension skills of class IV students at SD Negeri Serang 09.
