Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh pendekatan whole language berbantuan multimedia interaktif aplikasi sekolah enuma terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas II SDN Surakarya 03. Penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes (pretest-posttest) dan non-tes (observasi). Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas II-A dan 30 siswa kelas II-B SDN Surakarya 03. Analisis data deskriptif dilakukan terhadap data nilai total pretest dan post-test kelas eksperimen serta pretest dan post-test kelas kontrol. Setelah dilakukan treatment, diketahui bahwa ada peningkatan nilai rata-rata khususnya pada kelas eksperimen, terlihat peningkatan nilai rata-rata yang cukup besar yaitu 81,90 ke 85,27 sedangkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol yaitu 77,77 ke 80,33. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji t paired t-test pada nilai total pretest kelas eksperimen dan post-test kelas eksperimen. Dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan whole language berbantuan multimedia interaktif terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan terlihat dari nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang mana lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka terdapat pengaruh pendekatan whole language berbantuan multimedia interaktif terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa yang mendapatkan pendekatan whole language berbantuan multimedia interaktif aplikasi sekolah enuma di kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional (metode abjad) di kelas kontrol dan terdapat pengaruh pendekatan whole language berbantuan multimedia interaktif aplikasi sekolah enuma terhadap kemampuan membaca permulaan. ----- ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the influence of the whole language approach assisted by the interactive multimedia application of the Enuma school on the initial reading ability of class II students at SDN Surakarya 03. The research used is quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. Data collection techniques in this research used tests (pretest-posttest) and non-tests (observation). The research subjects were 30 students in class II-A and 30 in class II-B at SDN Surakarya 03. Descriptive data analysis was carried out on the total pretest and post-test score data for the experimental class and the pretest and post-test for the control class. After the treatment was carried out, it was discovered that there was an increase in the average value, especially in the experimental class. There was a reasonably significant increase in the average value, namely 81.90 to 85.27, while the average value in the control class was 77.77 to 80.33. Next, a paired t-test was carried out on the total score of the experimental class pretest and experimental class post-test. It can be seen that there is an influence of the whole language approach assisted by interactive multimedia on initial reading ability as seen from the significance value of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05, so there is an influence of the whole language approach assisted by interactive multimedia on initial reading ability. Thus, the initial reading skills of students who received the whole language approach assisted by interactive multimedia with the Enuma school application in the experimental class were more excellent than those who received conventional learning (alphabet method) in the control class. There was an influence of the whole language approach assisted with interactive multimedia with the Enuma school application on beginning reading ability.
