Abstract

Anak tunarungu memiliki hak untuk bekerja setelah menjadi lulusan nanti. Salah satu layanan Pendidikan yang tepat untuk membekali anak berkebutuhan khusus, yaitu keterampilan vokasional. Keterampilan vokasional bagi anak tunarungu salah satunya yaitu keterampilan vokasional tanah liat. Kondisi objektif pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional tanah liat, pengajarnya masih menggunakan model konvensional dengan penggunaan metode cermah dan belum memenuhi kebutuhan anak tunarungu dalam pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional tanah liat yang membutuhkan partisipasi aktif dari siswanya dalam melakukan praktik pada keterampilan vokasional tanah liat ini. Dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang dapat menunjang kebutuhan anak tunarungu dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional tanah liat, dan model yang diasumsikan cocok untuk memenuhi kebutuhan itu yaitu model pembelajaran langsung. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap peningkatan keterampilan vokasional pembuatan tempat perhiasan berbahan dasar tanah liat (air dry clay) bagi anak tunarungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif jenis eksperimen dengan desain penelitian SSR (Single Subject Research) . Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kinerja intervensi yang dilakukan selama 5 sesi. Adanya hasil perubahan skor subjek dari kondisi baseline 1 (A1) pada kondisi Intervensi (B) yang cukup signifikan sebanyak 15,7% menjadikan model pembelajaran langsung efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan subjek pada keterampilan vokasional pembuatan tempat perhiasan berbahan dasar tanah liat (air dry clay). Deaf children have the right to work after becoming graduates. One of the appropriate educational services to equip children with special needs is vocational skills. One of the vocational skills for deaf children is clay vocational skills. The condition of the objectives of learning clay vocational skills is that the teacher still uses the conventional model using the ceramah method and does not meet the needs of deaf children in learning clay vocational skills which requires active participation from students in carrying out exercises on these clay vocational skills. A learning model is needed that can support the needs of deaf children in carrying out clay vocational skills learning, and the model indicated to be suitable to meet these needs is the direct learning model. Based on this, researchers are interested in finding out the effectiveness of applying the direct learning model to improve vocational skills in making air-dry clay jewelry for deaf children. This research uses a quantitative experimental type method with an SSR (Single Subject Research) research design. Data collection techniques used intervention performance tests out over 5 sessions. The results of the change in the subject's score from baseline condition 1 (A1) to the Intervention condition (B) which was quite significant at 15.7% made the direct learning model effective in improving the subject's ability in the vocational skills of making jewelry place made from clay (air dry clay).
