Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemahaman siswa pada materi keberagaman sosial dan budaya masih sangat rendah dan materinya sulit dipahami. Berdasarkan hasil pra siklus yang telah dilakukan, kegiatan pembelajaran IPS cenderung hanya guru yang mendominasi kelas, tidak menggunakan media pembelajaran yang mendukung, serta interaksi sosial antar siswa kurang terjalin dengan baik. Hasil dari proses pembelajaran tersebut siswa yang mendapatkan nilai tuntas hanya 1 siswa dari 24 siswa dengan nilai terendah 15. KKM kelas V di SDN Harapan Jaya III yaitu 75. Oleh karena itu, peneliti bertujuan untuk menerapkan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media flash card untuk memperbaiki pemahaman siswa pada pelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VA SDN Harapan Jaya III dengan jumlah siswa 24 orang. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu model Milles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan soal tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian dapat dibuktikan melalui persentase ketuntasan pada siklus I yaitu 25%, selanjutnya meningkat pada siklus kedua yaitu sebesar 41,66%, meningkat kembali pada siklus tiga yaitu 87,50%, dan hasil pada akhir siklus yaitu 87,50%. Berdasarkan paparan hasil penelitian diatas maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan saintifik berbantuan media flash card dapat memperbaiki pemahaman siswa kelas V pada pelajaran IPS materi keberagaman sosial dan budaya di SDN Harapan Jaya III. Based on the results of the pre-cycle that has been carried out, social studies learning activities tend to be only teachers who dominate the class, do not use supporting learning media, and social interaction between students is not well established. The results of the learning process are students who get a complete score of only 1 student out of 24 students with the lowest score of 15. KKM class V at SDN Harapan Jaya III is 75. Therefore, the researcher aims to apply a scientific approach assisted by flash card media to improve student understanding in social studies lessons. This research is a Kemmis and Mc Taggart model classroom action research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted in three cycles with the research subjects of VA class students of SDN Harapan Jaya III with a total of 24 students. The data analysis technique used is the Milles and Huberman model with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data collection techniques in this study used observation sheets, interviews, documentation and learning outcomes test questions. The results of the study can be proven through the percentage of complet[eness in cycle I which is 25%, then increased in the second cycle which amounted to 41.66%, increased again in cycle three which was 87.50%, and the results at the end of the cycle were 87.50%. Based on the exposure of the research results above, it can be concluded that the application of the scientific approach assisted by flash card media can improve the understanding of grade V students in social studies lessons on social and cultural diversity material at SDN Harapan Jaya III.
