    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi permasalahan anak usia 5-6 tahun yang belum memiliki kemampuan pola matematis (ABCD-ABCD). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan aktivitas bermain dengan media loose parts sebagai kegiatan dan media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pola matematis anak usia 5-6 tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran mengenai penerapan aktivitas bermain dengan media loose parts dan peningkatan kemampuan pola matematis anak usia 5-6 tahun setelah penerapan aktivitas bermain dengan media loose parts. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan desain penelitian model Pelton. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu PAUD yang berada di Kabupaten Bandung dengan partisipan penelitian anak usia 5-6 tahun sebanyak 11 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, penilaian observasi kemampuan pola matematis anak, observasi pembelajaran, dan catatan lapangan. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali tindakan dengan penggunaan media loose parts yang berbeda-beda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan kemampuan pola matematis anak setelah melakukan kegiatan bermain dengan media loose parts. Hasil rata-rata persentase pada tindakan I sebesar 36,93% dengan kriteria cukup, tindakan II sebesar 61,93% dengan kriteria baik, dan tindakan III sebesar 83,52% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil peningkatan diperkuat juga dengan menggunakan rumus N-gain yang menghasilkan nilai sebesar 0,739 yang termasuk kedalam kategori tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan aktivitas bermain dengan media loose parts dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pola matematis anak usia 5-6 tahun.

    This research is motivated by the problem of children aged 5-6 years who do not yet have mathematical patterning skills (ABCD-ABCD). This study was conducted by applying play activities with loose parts media as activities and learning media that can improve the mathematical pattern skills of children aged 5-6 years. This study aims to determine an overview of the application of play activities with loose parts media and an increase in the mathematical patterning ability of children aged 5-6 years after the application of play activities with loose parts media. The research method used is classroom action research method with Pelton model research design. The research was conducted in one PAUD located in Bandung Regency with research participants of 5-6 years old children as many as 11 people. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used in this study were interviews, observation assessments of children's mathematical patterning abilities, learning observations, and field notes. The research was conducted three times with the use of different loose parts media. The results showed that there was an increase in children's mathematical patterning ability after playing with loose parts media. The average percentage result in action I was 36.93% with sufficient criteria, action II was 61.93% with good criteria, and action III was 83.52% with very good criteria. The results of the increase are also reinforced by using the N-gain formula which produces a value of 0.739 which is included in the high category. Based on the results of the calculation, it can be concluded that the application of play activities with loose parts media can improve the ability of mathematical patterns of children aged 5-6 years.
