Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan berbicara anak di kelompok B TK Trisula Perwari Kabupaten Purwakarta, dikarenakan guru kurang optimal dalam memberikan metode pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara anak. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki praktik pembelajaran dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara anak.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dan dalam setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga tindakan.Adapun tekhnik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi.Sedangkan langkah-langkah analisis data dalam penelitian ini antara lain reduksi data, penyajian data dan pengambilan kesimpulan/ verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa kemampuan berbicara anak kelompok B pada siklus I mengalami peningkatan sebanyak 13,25 % yaitu dari 50 % menjadi 63,25 % dan setelah dilakukan perbaikan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan kembali sebanyak 12,5 % yaitu dari 63,25 % menjadi 75,75 %. Temuan penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa metode bercerita akan berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara anak kelompok B dengan memperhatikan hal-hal sebagai berikut:1) guru memahami tentang tekhnik-tekhnik bercerita menggunakan boneka seperti ekspresi suara, olah vokal dan penghayatan 2) mengatur jeda waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan, 3) memilih alur cerita yang disesuaikan dengan karakter anak 4) kegiatan bercerita dilaksanakan tidak lebih dari 15 menit untuk menghindari kejenuhan 5) guru lebih peka terhadap situasi kelas dan menggunakan trik menarik pada saat anak merasa bosan. Kata kunci : kemampuan berbicara, bercerita, bercerita menggunakan boneka This research’s background is based on the fact that the speaking skill of the children at group B of Trisula Perwari Kindergarten in Purwakarta isconsidered to be relatively low and also the method which is given by the teachers is considered to be not optimal to improve the speaking skill of the children. Thus, the aim of this research is to develop a good teaching-lerning activity in order to improve the speaking skill of the children. A method used in this research was classroom action research form done in two cycles, in which contain 3 steps in each cycle. This research was done in the period of April 23rd until May 30th in 2014. Observation, interview and documentation were chosen as the technique for data collection. While the steps of data analysis in this research werw : data reduction, data serving and summarizing.the result shows that besed on the analysis and the reflection done in 2 cycles, in the first cycle it is found that there is an improvement in amount of 13,25 % (from 50% to 63,25 %) and after being given the second cycle, it is also found another improvement in amount of 12,5 % ( from 63,25 to 75,75 % ). Therefore, it can be summarized that the implementation of ‘puppet show’ as teching method is believed to be able to relatively improve the speaking skill of the children at group B of TrisulaPerwari Kindergarten in Purwakarta in condition of : 1) the teacher understand the particulat technique in ‘puppet show’ such as expression, articulation and comprehension; 2) Managing the time; 3) Selecting appropriate plot of the story for the children; 4) The activity should be no more than 15 minutes; 5) Teacher should be more sensitive towards the classroom condition and using attractive trick whwn the students start to get bored.
