Dita Salma (1908189). “Pengaruh Penerapan Metode Problem Solving Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Pada Mata Pelajaran Ekonomi (Kuasi Eksperimen di Kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Ciparay pada Meteri Kebutuhan Manusia dan Kelangkaan)”. Dibawah Bimbingan Dosen Pembimbing I: Prof. Dr. H. Disman, MS dan Dosen Pembimbing II: Leni Permana, S.Pd.,M.Pd. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yang dilihat dari hasil pra penelitian di SMA Negeri 1 Ciparay. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode problem solving terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Ciparay, Adapun sampel yang diambil adalah peserta didik kelas X 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X 9 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah soal tes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent pretest postest control group. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan statistic parametrik yang meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis (paired sample t-test dan independent sample test). Hasil penelitian menunjukan: 1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan perlakuan metode problem solving, 2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan metode problem solving dengan kelas kontrol. Terjadi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen dengan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,47 dengan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,37 yang keduanya masuk kedalam kategori sedang. ABSTRACT This research is based by the problem of the low level of students’ critical thinking ability as evidenced by the results of pre-research at SMA Negeri 1 Ciparay. This study aims to determine the effect of applying the method problem solving on students’ critical thinking ability. The population in this study were students of class X SMAN 1 Ciparay, while the samples taken were class X1 as the control class and X9 as the experimental class. The data collection was a test. The research method used is quasi experimental with nonequivalent pretest postest control group design. Data analysis techniques with parametric statistics which include normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test (paired sample t-test and independent sample test). The results of the study showed that: (1) there were the differences in improving students’ critical thinking ability in the experimental class before and after being given treatment by applying problem solving method, 2) there were differences in critical thinking ability in the experimental class using the problem solving method and class control. There was an increase in the critical thinking ability of the experimental class with an N-Gain value of 0,47 with a control class of 0,37 both of which were in the medium category.
