Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasar pada rendahnya historical imagination siswa dalam pembelajaran di kelas XII IPS 5 SMAN 2 Lembang. Dengan adanya permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan historical imagination siswa dengan model project based learning pada pembelajaran sejarah. Model project based learning ini dilakukan dengan media digital storytelling. Historical imagination merupakan salah satu kemampuan dasar yang termuat dalam pemahaman sejarah harus dimiliki siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Dengan kemampuan historical imagination siswa akan mudah merekonstruksi, menceritakan kembali, hingga memaknai suatu peristiwa sejarah. Untuk meningkatkan kemampuan tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan desain John Elliot. Dimana inti pelaksanaan dalam desain ini sama dengan desain lainnya yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Namun desain ini dianggap lebih rinci dari desain lain, dan dalam desain ini memungkinkan untuk melaksanakan beberapa tindakan dalam satu siklusnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas XII IPS 5 SMAN 2 Lembang sebanyak tiga siklus dengan melihat peningkatan historical imagination siswa pada pembelajaran sejarah. Adapun indikator yang disusun peneliti terdiri dari melakukan kembali (re-enactment), menanyakan (interrogating), dan menyisipkan (interpolating). Pengamatan pada siklus pertama kedua dan ketiga, ketiga indikator tersebut meningkat cukup signifikan. Walaupun pada awalnya indikator kedua cukup rendah, namun pada siklus selanjutnya dapat meningkat dengan cukup baik. Sehingga dapat dikatakan penggunaan model project based learning dapat meningkatkan historical imagination siswa pada pembelajaran sejarah di kelas XII IPS 5. This research was conducted based on the low historical imagination of students learning in class XII IPS 5 SMAN 2 Lembang. Given these problems, this research aims to increase students' historical imagination with a project-based learning model in history learning. This project-based learning model is carried out using digital storytelling media. Historical imagination is one of the basic abilities contained in historical comprehension that students must have in learning history. With historical imagination skills, students will easily reconstruct, retell, and interpret historical events. To improve this ability, researchers used the classroom action research method with the John Elliot design. Where the core implementation in this design is the same as in other designs, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. However, this design is considered more detailed than other designs, and in this design it is possible to carry out several actions in one cycle. This research was conducted in class XII IPS 5 SMAN 2 Lembang for three cycles by looking at the increase in students' historical imagination in learning history. The indicators compiled by researchers consist of re-enactment, interrogating and interpolating. Observations in the first, second and third cycles, these three indicators increased quite significantly. Even though initially the second indicator was quite low, in the next cycle it increased quite well. So it can be said that the use of the project-based learning model can increase students' historical imagination in history learning in class XII IPS 5.
