Abstract
Di abad ke-21 diperlukan kemampuan berkomunikasi secara global untuk bisa mengikuti zaman yang semakin maju dan modern. Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa yang digunakan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Namun, menurut EF EPI tahun 2023 Indonesia termasuk peringkat ke-79 berdasarkan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris di negara dan wilayah-wilayah di dunia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan suatu produk berupa buku cerita bergambar untuk mengnalkan budaya global. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian design and development dengan prosedur penelitian ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) dalam merancang media. Proses validasi buku cerita bergambar melibatkan ahli materi, bahasa, serta media. Hasil uji validasi buku cerita bergambar berada pada kategori "sangat layak" dengan persentase hasil sebesar 95,73%. Respons pengguna dilakukan kepada satu orang guru dan dua puluh satu siswa dengan hasil persentase sebesar 94,48% berada pada kategori sangat baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa buku cerita bergambar berbahasa Inggris untuk mengenalkan budaya global ini sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran kelas lima sekolah dasar. ----------- In the 21st century, the ability to communicate globally is essential to keep up with the advancing and modern era. English is a language used in various aspects of life. However, according to the EF EPI in 2023, Indonesia is ranked 79th based on English language proficiency in countries and regions worldwide. The aim of this research is to produce a product in the form of an illustrated storybook to introduce global culture. This research follows the design and development approach with the ADDIE research procedure (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) in designing the media. The validation process of the illustrated storybook involves experts in content, language, and media. The validation results for the illustrated storybook fall into the "very feasible" category with a percentage result of 95.73%. User responses were obtained from one teacher and twenty-one students, with a percentage result of 94.48%, categorized as excellent. These results indicate that the English-language illustrated storybook for introducing global culture is highly suitable for use in fifth-grade elementary school learning.
