Abstract

Anak tunarungu yang telah memasuki usia pubertas harus diberikan pendidikan tentang kesehatan reproduksi, memiliki informasi yang kurang tentang pubertas akan sangat mempengaruhi keterampilan personal hygeine. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan pembelajaran yang bisa diimplementasikan oleh guru di Sekolah mengenai kesiapan diri memasuki masa pubertas. Terutama pada saat mengalami menstruasi pertama bagi anak tunarungu, informasi tentang menstruasi sangat penting diberikan agar tidak menimbulkan kesalahpahaman dan memunculkan perilaku negatif. Seperti tidak percaya diri, merasa gelisah dan khawatir dengan perubahan fisik pada tubuhnya, serta tidak mengetahui cara penggunaan pembalut yang tepat dan benar saat menstruasi. Tujuan yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan metode explicit instruction dapat meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan pembalut saat menstruasi, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen single subjek research (SSR) dengan dsain penelitian A-B-A. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes unjuk kerja dan dianalisis menggunakan statiska deskriptif, subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa tunarungu yang sudah memasuki usia pubertas di SLB Hasrat Mulia Kampus II. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh metode explicit instruction terhadap keterampilan penggunaan pembalut saat menstruasi. dapat dilihat dari indikator yang meningkat diantaranya: 1) tahapan persiapan, 2) tahapan penggunaan pembalut dan, 3) tahapan kebersihan setelah memakai pembalut. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya kenaikan rata-rata kemampuan subjek pada setiap kondisi yaitu baseline-1 (A1), kondisi intervensi (B), dan kondisi baseline-2 (A). Metode explicit instruction dapat meningkatkan keterampilan penggunaan pembalut saat menstruasi pada anak tunarungu. Deaf children who have entered puberty must be given education about reproductive health, having less information about puberty will greatly affect personal hygiene skills. Therefore, learning is needed that can be implemented by teachers in schools regarding self-readiness to enter puberty. Especially when experiencing the first menstruation for deaf children, information about menstruation is very important to be given so as not to cause misunderstanding and lead to negative behavior. Such as lack of confidence, feeling anxious and worried about physical changes in their body, and not knowing how to use the right and correct sanitary napkins during menstruation. The expected goal in this study is to determine how the effect of using the explicit instruction method can improve the skills of using sanitary napkins during menstruation, the method used in this study is the single subject research (SSR) experimental method with the A-B-A research design. Data was collected using a performance test instrument and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the subjects in this study were deaf students who had entered puberty at SLB Hasrat Mulia Campus II. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of the explicit instruction method on the skills of using sanitary napkins during menstruation. can be seen from the indicators that increase including: 1) the preparation stage, 2) the stage of using sanitary napkins and, 3) the hygiene stage after using sanitary napkins. This is evidenced by the increase in the average ability of the subject in each condition, namely baseline-1 (A1), intervention condition (B), and baseline-2 condition (A). The explicit instruction method can improve the skills of using sanitary napkins during menstruation for deaf children.
