Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya unsur serapan yang masuk ke dalam bahasa Sunda untuk komunikasi sehari-hari, baik lisan maupun tulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan menggunakan unsur serapan pada karangan eksposisi siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 3 Lembang. Deskripsinya mencakup (1) unsur serapan yang terdapat pada karangan siswa, (2) kesalahan penulisan unsur serapan yang dilakukan siswa, dan (3) kemampuan siswa menggunakan unsur serapan dalam karangan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik tes, sedangkan teknik pengolahan data menggunakan teknik analisis unsur langsung. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 3 Lembang yang berjumlah 41 siswa, 28 laki-laki dan 13 perempuan. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan siswa menggunakan unsur serapan dalam karangan eksposisi. Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam karangan eksposisi siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 3 Lembang terdapat 176 unsur serapan dengan frekuensi 844 kali. Unsur serapan tersebut berasal dari 11 bahasa (Inggris, Indonesia, Arab, Sansekerta, Belanda, Kawi, Melayu, Prancis, Persia, Jawa, dan Jepang). Kesalahan penulisan unsur serapan berkaitan dengan pertukaran vokal, kesalahan suku kata, dan penambahan atau pengurangan fonem. Kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan unsur serapan sebagian besar tergolong istimewa (48,7%) dan baik sekali (24,3%). This study aims to find and describe the ability of using absorption substance in exposition text at seventh grade of SMPN 3 Lembang. The description covers (1) the absorption substance of student text (2) the errors of writing absorption substance in writing text (3) the student ability of using absorption substance of the text. This study used descriptive method with test technique. The data was processed through direct analysis technique. The sources of data in this study were student of SMPN 3 Lembang, that have 41 students, 28 boys and 13 girls. The data of this research was the student ability of using absorption substance in exposition text. The result of this research that on the exposition text of seventh grade student of SMP Negeri 3 Lembang there were 176 absorption substance with 844 times frequence. That absorption substance were came from 11 languages (English, Indonesia, Arabian, Sansekerta, Dutch, Kawi, Malayan, French, Persian, Javanese, and Japanese ). The errors of writing absorption is related of vocal exchanges, the errors of syllable, and phoneme increasing or phoneme decreasing. Most of the student ability of using absorption substance were classified of special category (48,7%) and excellent category (24,3%).
