Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterampilan membaca permulaan dari siswa kelas IA SDN Bantargebang V Bekasi yang masih tergolong rendah. Setiap siswa memiliki kesulitan membacanya masing-masing, seperti belum mengenal huruf, terpaku pada kata-kata tertentu, dan ketidakmampuan siswa membaca kalimat sederhana. Guru mengalami hambatan dalam proses penyampaian materi. Dalam hal ini, media pembelajaran sebagai pengiring penjelasan guru dalam menyampaikan materi. Media pembelajaran sendiri merupakan alat bantu dalam pembelajaran untuk mendukung tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Salah satu solusinya, yaitu menggunakan media kartu kata. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas IA berjumlah 26 siswa/i menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, ditemukan 77% siswa dalam katagori ≥73, yang berarti telah mencapai KKTP. Sedangkan 19% siswa/i berada dalam katagori <73, yang berarti belum mencapai KKTP. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan penerapan media kartu kata bergambar efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan dan membuat lingkungan pembelajaran menjadi lebih interaktif dan efektif. Kata kunci: Media kartu kata, membaca permulaan, sekolah dasar ----- This research was motivated by the initial reading skills of class IA students at SDN Bantargebang V Bekasi which were still relatively low. Each student has their reading difficulties, such as not yet recognizing letters, being fixated on certain words, and the inability of students to read simple sentences. Teachers experience obstacles in the process of delivering material. In this case, learning media is an accompaniment to the teacher's explanation in delivering the material. Media is a tool in learning to support the achievement of learning goals. One solution is to use word card media. The subjects in this research were class IA, totaling 26 students using the Classroom Action Research method. The results of the research carried out found that 77% of students were in the ≥73 category, which means they had reached the KKTP. Meanwhile, 19% of students are in the <73 category, which means they have not yet reached the KKTP. So it can be concluded that the application of picture word card media is effective in improving initial reading skills and making the learning environment more interactive and effective.
