Abstract

Relasi dan fungsi merupakan materi yang penting dipahami siswa dan sebagai prasyarat untuk materi selanjutnya. Namun, banyak siswa yang mengalami hambatan-hambatan saat mempelajari materi ini. Hambatan itu dapat disebabkan oleh penyajian buku yang tidak epistemik. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis eksistensi hambatan belajar (learning obstacle) pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini berdasarkan pada tahapan yang terdapat pada Didactical Design Research (DDR). Subjek penelitian adalah 22 siswa kelas IX Sekolah menengah Pertama di Kota Bandung, Provinsi Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes soal uraian mengenai materi relasi, pedoman wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) Task pada T1 belum terlalu lengkap untuk menjelaskan konsep relasi, sementara T2 masih belum tepat untuk menjelaskan konsep fungsi bagi beberapa siswa dengan keadaan tertentu. Technique dan technology pada buku teks ini tidak memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk mengeksplorasi pengetahuan dan pengalaman yang telah ia miliki. Theory yang digunakan pada buku ini telah sesuai dengan pendapat para ahli. 2) learning obstacle yang dialami oleh siswa berupa ontogenic obstacle yang bersifat psikologis, instrumental, dan konseptual, epistemological obstacle, serta didactical obstacle pada materi relasi dan fungsi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diharapkan guru hendaknya memperhatikan learning obstacle yang dialami oleh siswa sehingga tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran. Selain itu, penelitian ini diharapkan juga dapat digunakan sebagai studi awal untuk menyusun suatu Didactical Design Research yang dapat meminimalkan terjadinya obstacles dalam pembelajaran. Relations and functions are important topics for students to understand and are a prerequisite for the next topic. However, many students experience obstacles when studying this topic. Obstacles can be caused by the non-epistemic presentation of the book. Therefore, this research aims to describe and analyze the existence of learning obstacles in relation and function. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The research design used in this research is based on the stages contained in Didactical Design Research (DDR). The research subjects were 22 students of grade IX of Junior High Schools in Bandung City, West Java Province, Indonesia. The data collection instruments used were a test regarding relation and function, interview guidelines, and study documentation. The results of this research are: 1) The assignment in T1 was not very complete in explaining the concept of relationship, while T2 was still not appropriate in explaining the concept of function for some students in certain circumstances. The techniques and technology in this textbook do not provide opportunities for students to explore the knowledge and experience they already have. The theory used in this book is following the opinions of experts. 2) learning obstacles experienced by students in the form of ontogenic obstacles of a psychological, instrumental and conceptual, epistemological obstacle, as well as didactic obstacle in relation and function. This research implies that it is hoped that teachers will pay attention to the learning obstacles experienced by students so that learning objectives are achieved. Apart from that, it is hoped that this research can also be used as an initial study to develop a Didactical Design Research that can minimize the occurrence of obstacles in learning.
