Abstract

Sistem pengajaran di SMP yang menekankan pada proses pembelajaran, pentingnya pembimbingan dari guru, dan adanya integrasi antara guru dan siswa membuat peneliti ingin meninjau proses pembelajaran yang terjadi di SMP dengan menggunakan teori scaffolding milik Vygotsky. Fokus penelitian ini adalah mencari tahu gambaran dari penerapan teori Vygotsky pada pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar guru-siswa di kelas SMP khususnya pada konsep scaffolding, technical tools dan proses internalisasi yang terjadi pada siswa. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang menfokuskan pada studi deskriptif dari hasil observasi di kelas. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1)ada kontingensi dalam proses pemberian scaffolding oleh guru kepada siswa serta adanya 2)Informasi dari interaksi guru-siswa di kelas diinternalisasi oleh siswa ke dalam struktur pemikirannya. 3)Masih terdapatnya kendala namun guru melakukan peningkatan interaksi kepada siswa membuat siswa menjadi lebih antusias dalam memahami materi yang di ajarkan. The teaching system in junior high schools which emphasizes the learning process, the importance of guidance from teachers, and the integration between teachers and students makes researchers want to review the learning process that occurs in junior high schools using Vygotsky's scaffolding theory. The focus of this research is to find out an overview of the application of Vygotsky's theory in the implementation of teacher-student learning activities in junior high school classes, especially on the concept of scaffolding, technical tools and the internalization process that occurs in students. Researchers use a qualitative approach that focuses on descriptive studies from classroom observations. The participants in this research were students and teachers. The research results show that 1)there is contingency in the process of providing scaffolding by teachers to students and 2)information from teacher- student interactions in the classroom is internalized by students into the structure of their thinking. 3)There are still obstacles, but the teacher increases interaction with students, making students more enthusiastic in understanding the material being taught.
