Abstract

Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dikuasai oleh siswa. Landasan untuk pembelajaran matematika yang bermakna adalah pemahaman konsep matematis. Dalam proses pembelajaran matematika, motivasi sangat diperlukan karena seseorang yang tidak memiliki motivasi belajar tidak akan mungkin bisa melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran. Namun, pada kenyataannya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan motivasi belajar siswa masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan pencapaian motivasi belajar siswa SMP melalui model kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan wordwall pada materi perbandingan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII di salah satu Sekolah Mengengah Pertama (SMP) di Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat, sedangkan pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu instrumen tes dan instrumen non-tes. Instrumen tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis digunakan untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, instrumen non-tes berupa angket motivasi belajar digunakan untuk menngukur pencapaian motivasi belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pencapaian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan wordwall lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT tanpa wordwall (2) Peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa SMP yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan wordwall lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT tanpa wordwall. (3) Pencapaian motivasi belajar matematika siswa SMP yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT berbantuan wordwall lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan model kooperatif tipe TGT tanpa wordwall. The ability to understand mathematical concepts is one of the abilities that students must master. The foundation for meaningful mathematics learning is understanding mathematical concepts. In the mathematics learning process, motivation is very necessary because someone who does not have the motivation to learn will not be able to carry out learning activities. However, in reality students' ability to understand mathematical concepts and learning motivation are still relatively low. This research aims to determine the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts and achieve learning motivation for junior high school students through the TGT type cooperative model assisted by wordwall in comparative material. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were class VII students at one of the Junior High Schools (SMP) in Bandung City, West Java, while sampling used a purposive sampling technique with two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The research instruments used are test instruments and non-test instruments. The test instrument for the ability to understand mathematical concepts is used to measure the increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The non-test instrument in the form of a learning motivation questionnaire is used to measure the achievement of students' learning motivation. The results of this research show that: (1) The achievement of the ability to understand mathematical concepts of junior high school students who use the TGT type cooperative model with the help of a wordwall is significantly higher than that of students who use the TGT type cooperative model without a wordwall (2) The increase in the ability to understand mathematical concepts of junior high school students who using the TGT type cooperative model assisted by wordwall was significantly higher than students who used the TGT type cooperative model without wordwall. (3) The achievement of mathematics learning motivation for junior high school students who use the TGT type cooperative model with the help of a wordwall is significantly higher than students who use the TGT type cooperative model without a wordwall.
