Abstract

This research is motivated by the emergence of masculinization and feminization behavior in boys and girls at PAUDQ Khoirul Hakim whose activities or play must be based on gender. Children's understanding of gender will be determined by parents' views about gender and the parenting practices carried out by parents towards boys and girls. The aim of this research is to find out how tasks are divided between fathers and mothers, fathers' and mothers' views on gender, and the care provided by fathers and mothers for boys and girls. The method in this research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach and phenomenological design. There were four participants in this research, namely two fathers and two mothers who had sons and/or daughters who attended PAUDQ Khoirul Hakim, precisely in Kp. Pasirangain RT 04 RW 04 Talun Village, Ibun District, Bandung Regency, the selection of participants used the Purposive Sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and observations, then the data was analyzed using thematic analysis. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the division of tasks between father and mother, both in the distribution of domestic and public tasks or caring for children, is very different, each family has a different division of tasks. Fathers and mothers consider gender to be the same as sex, so the care or treatment given to boys and girls is different, but there are still the same components, namely religion and love.
