Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh iklim kelas terhadap student engagement di MTs. Persis Tarogong Garut. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 375 siswa MTs. Persis Tarogong pada jenjang kelas 7, 8, dan 9. Responden mengisi kuesioner What Is Happening In This Class? Questionnaire (WIHIC) dan Classroom Engagement Inventory (CEI). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh iklim kelas terhadap student engagement sebesar 30.8%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa iklim kelas memiliki pengaruh terhadap student engagement di MTs. Persis Tarogong Garut. Setiap dimensi iklim kelas pada penelitian ini menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap student engagement dimana dimensi iklim kelas yang paling tinggi berpengaruh terhadap student engagement adalah dimensi orientasi tugas sebesar 32.2%. Artinya, dimensi orientasi tugas memiliki pengaruh yang paling kuat dibandingkan dengan dimensi iklim kelas lainnya terhadap student engagement. This study aims to determine the influence of classroom climate on student engagement at MTs. Persis Tarogong Garut. Respondents in this study amounted to 375 students of MTs. Persis Tarogong Garut at grade 7, 8, and 9. Respondents filled out the What Is Happening In This Class? Questionnaire (WIHIC) and Classroom Engagement Inventory (CEI). The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression. The results showed that the influence of classroom climate on student engagement was 30.8%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the classroom climate has an influence on student engagement at MTs. Persis Tarogong Garut. Each dimension of classroom climate in this study shows an influence on student engagement where the dimension of classroom climate that has the highest effect on student engagement is the task orientation dimension by 32.2%. This means that the task orientation dimension has the strongest influence compared to other classroom climate dimensions on student engagement.
